Meet Francesca Tyndall

We recently connected with Francesca Tyndall and have shared our conversation below.

Francesca, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I think imposter syndrome is something everyone experiences at some point in their life with a skill they are trying to develop. For me and my nutrition coaching business, it was the constant thought of “do I really have what it takes to help other strength athletes achieve their goals when it comes to nutrition?” I’ve always been someone who constantly seeks out opportunities to learn more about nutrition. With a masters degree, and 3 certifications, I’ve always wanted to make sure I am well educated and the best equipped to help my clients. I had my “aha” moment while I was taking the RP Strength nutrition coaching certification. I remember I was sitting on the couch and while doing one of the modules, I realized that what it was trying to teach me, I already knew. This is when I realized that I have a lot of knowledge and skill to be able to help a strength athlete through their nutrition journey, and that gave me the confidence to push the imposter syndrome aside and start thinking of myself as a successful coach and business owner

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I first became interested in sports nutrition when I started powerlifting back in August of 2016. I knew that nutrition played a role in sports, but really wanted to dig deeper into it. A masters degree and 3 nutrition coaching certifications later, I now own a nutrition coaching business which helps strength athletes achieve goals such as weight loss, muscle growth, and improved performance. I love helping strength athletes realize how nutrition can drastically change their appearance, performance, and overall health. My coaching services are unique in that I specialize in helping these athletes also develop healthy habits that will continue to serve them well beyond our coaching time together. My services include everything from e-books, online courses, group coaching, one-on-one coaching, and in-person cooking experiences.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think the most impactful skills to have are communication, confidence, and organization. They way you speak with people goes a long way. The ability to listen to their concerns and be able to communicate your solution will help you ten-fold in your business. The confidence to know that you do have what it takes to achieve your dreams. When you are confident in your abilities, people will pick up on that and will be attracted to you. And organization is important for when things in business are finally taking off and you need to juggle your clients, personal life, and perhaps whatever full time job you are currently at while your business is built. My best advice for those early on in their entrepreneurial journey is to not give up and never stop learning.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who is regularly involved in a strength sport such as powerlifting, weightlifting, strongman or CrossFit, who wants to not only improve their athletic abilities, but also has a desire to improve their overall health. The characteristics of my ideal client include motivated, disciplined, self-aware, coachable, and has a “long haul” mindset versus one that is focused on instant gratification.
