Yolanda , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience stems from my early experiences of having to navigate difficult circumstances on my own. From being kicked out at a young age for being true to myself to surviving on the streets in a challenging environment, I’ve developed strength and resourcefulness that have shaped who I am today. These experiences have undoubtedly forged a resilience that allows me to face adversity with determination and courage.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Yolanda Benning is an executive at Fantastic Media Group LLC. As a key figure within the company, she plays a significant role in overseeing operations, fostering creativity, and driving the growth and success of the digital media network. Her expertise and leadership are vital to the company’s mission to license independent content and provide a platform for diverse voices. Fantastic Media Group LLC is my digital media network streaming service. As the owner, I aim to license independent content and promote the network. Fantastic Media Group TV, a part of this company, is an important platform I am working tirelessly to grow.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Being a Nonyielding Student of Life:

From a young age, I learned the importance of resilience and adaptability. Life has always been my greatest teacher, and I’ve made it a point to learn from every experience and challenge. This mindset has allowed me to grow continuously, adapt to changing circumstances, and embrace opportunities with an open mind and heart.

Ability to Wear Multiple Hats in Production:

In the media industry, especially when building a company from the ground up, versatility is key. My ability to take on various roles in production—from creative development and scripting to technical execution and post-production—has been invaluable. This skill set has not only made me a more effective leader but has also allowed me to understand and appreciate every facet of the projects I work on.

Entrepreneurial Spirit:

I’ve always had a drive to create and innovate. This entrepreneurial spirit has been the backbone of my journey, propelling me to build Fantastic Media Group LLC and navigate the complexities of the digital media landscape. It’s this passion and determination that keeps me pushing forward, always seeking new ways to grow and expand the reach of my network.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, I’m very interested in collaborating with Billy Carson or Dame Dash. Both of these individuals have been mentors to me for years and have significantly influenced my journey in the industry. Billy Carson’s innovative approach to content and technology and Dame Dash’s entrepreneurial mindset and creativity align perfectly with my vision for Fantastic Media Group LLC. I’m eager to explore opportunities to work together and create impactful projects that resonate with our audiences.
