Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasmine & Lorenzo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jasmine & Lorenzo, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Sometimes creativity can feel like surfing. Like you are in the middle of the ocean, straddling your board, waiting for that “perfect wave”. Most days you’ll be sitting there, waiting for everything to line-up just right, but inspiration never strikes.
The wave never comes.
Instead of feeling powerless, we can make the choice to create anyway.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be our “best work”. It can just be.
This is the way we’ve been able to continue creating. Without judgement, without pressure.
As long as we get out of our own way, HAVE FUN, and remember why we chose to be creators in the first place, creativity will always find its way through us and into the world.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Lorenzo and I are both musicians and restaurant owners.
We met through music in Los Angeles and relocated to the High Desert where we currently own and operate, “Spaghetti Western” a restaurant, venue & art gallery, in Morongo Valley, CA.
We will celebrate our 2 year business anniversary this upcoming December and have lots in store for next season. We are so thrilled to continue serving our wonderful community.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
– The first thing that pops to mind is the ability to practice flexibility and trusting the process.
When things don’t go exactly as planned, it’s often a blessing in disguise.
– Resilience: don’t give up when things don’t pan out as expected.
– Communication: being able to listen to others is crucial. Practicing effective communication is one of the most fundamental building blocks in launching any business.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
We feel extraordinarily blessed to have each other. We have been together for 10 years and continue to lean on one another for support, love, courage, and guidance. It’s been an immense joy to do life together. Even when things get tough, and they often do while raising a two year old and running our own business, we thank our lucky stars that we found each other.
