We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danii. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danii below.
Hi Danii, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from a deep belief in the transformative power of music and personal growth. As a licensed mental health therapist, I’ve witnessed the resilience of the human spirit and the profound impact of healing. I know there’s always more to life, and as a wanderer with a certain optimism for life, I create my reality and embrace being limitless. I understand that nothing lasts forever and every moment we get on Earth is a gift, fueling my positive outlook and drive to connect with others on a meaningful level.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I specialize in many things, but I am first a vessel of God. In short, I am a singer who creates music and helps guide people to healing. I am also a songwriter, sound healer, and licensed mental health therapist. Additionally, I dance, choreograph, and dabble in creative directing. The most exciting part is being blessed with many gifts and having outlets to express myself as an individual. My latest single, “Home,” is streaming now on all major platforms. Stay tuned for my debut EP dropping this fall. Visit daniiofficial.com to stream and follow @thedaniiofficial on Instagram for updates!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that have been most impactful on my journey are passion, resilience, and individuality. For anyone out there who is on the journey of artistry and may be just starting out or finding their footing, I would advise them to embrace individuality. Be true to yourself and where you desire to be as an artist. It’s challenging to be in an industry where you may compare your success or appearance to others and even question what you might be lacking. It is important to have inspirations but even more important to focus primarily on all the things that make you special. If you don’t, you may find yourself on a hamster wheel, going in circles, not knowing who you are. Finding yourself and fully developing as an artist is one of the beautiful parts of the journey. I am not the same singer or writer I was when I recorded my first song in 2016. I have grown significantly since then and I am grateful. Your journey has to be specific to who YOU are as a creator and who God called you to be; you have to know that is enough. There is no true success in trying to be someone else. What you have to offer has value and someone out there needs it, even if it looks different from what others are doing.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I am overwhelmed, I like to take space from the world and retreat. To recenter myself, I write, run, meditate, or simply do nothing. There is power in non-doing; it reinforces your faith that the divine is working on your behalf, no matter what. Sometimes, I get caught up in constant pursuit and hustle culture, which can be overwhelming. I am proud to have recognized this and have become better at truly resting. Not just lying down and stressing about my to-do list, but letting go and surrendering, knowing that everything will be okay. I also reach out to my support system when necessary; it’s important to identify the healthy people in your life. Venting can help bring you ease. It’s not good to isolate yourself every time you are struggling, even though that is second nature for some of us.
