Meet Samantha Delilah Bazile

We were lucky to catch up with Samantha Delilah Bazile recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha Delilah, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

The well-worn phrase “everything happens for a reason” really serves as a reminder that everything has a purpose. Viewing challenges or obstacles through this lens encourages us to seek the lessons or meaning within each situation. As I entered my 30s, I sensed my life was gradually aligning with its purposes. Though unsure of what they would entail or how they would unfold, I felt a definite movement in that direction. Trusting this process, I remained vigilant for signs. Then, at the start of 2023, the magic began, leading me to embark on building my own business.

Beaded By Delilah emerged during a period of uncertainty surrounding my health, marked by concerns about my fertility due to the impact of a fibroid on my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The journey was arduous, with setbacks such as the cancellation of my first scheduled operation, intensifying the challenges I faced. Despite the unexpected twists, I found solace in the solitude of those moments, realizing that this journey had a purpose. It became clear that I had the power to transform the path I was on and triumph over whatever the universe had in store for me.

In that introspective moment, I resolved to celebrate and honor my body for its resilience and endurance. This led to the creation of waist beads for myself, infused with the intention of manifesting a positive outcome. Throughout the bead-making process, I not only gained physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength but also marveled at the beauty of the beads, which had become a source of empowerment and self-affirmation. They became a constant reminder that I had the strength to overcome challenges.

This transformative experience planted the seed for Beaded By Delilah, a venture rooted in spreading positivity and love to others. The intention was to craft beads that could serve as a guide through their unique experiences and a celebration of their bodies. Interacting with clients, hearing their stories, and learning about their journeys and aspirations have been immensely fulfilling. That is how I found my purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Beading has become my passion and purpose in countless ways. Beaded By Delilah specializes in crafting handmade waist beads and other jewelry, catering to individuals embracing body positivity across all body types. My mission is to honor and appreciate the beauty inherent in our bodies, fostering pride in the skin we inhabit. We specifically recognize and commend the resilience of women’s bodies, acknowledging the myriad experiences they endure with unwavering perseverance.

My products are meticulously crafted in a nurturing environment, imbued with the energy of the moon and purified through sage, creating a conduit to heightened abundance, affirmations, intentions, self-love, and grounding. We invite Beaded By Delilah patrons to infuse positive thoughts as they adorn themselves with our beads, enhancing the overall experience.

These bead collections are designed with diverse intentions, addressing aspects such as womb health, sensuality, LGBTQ+ pride, Chakra alignment, cultural expression, weight management, and body celebrations. As a small business, we are thrilled to actively contribute to the cultivation of affirmations and manifestation through the lens of body positivity, especially in a time when such celebration is not as widespread as it should be. I am excited to curate that, one body at a time.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Faith. Purpose. Dedication.

My faith helped me realize that my journey had a purpose, and coming to that realization was the best thing that happened to me. I now have a new lease on life that nourishes me spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally.

My purpose in wanting to help others through the various benefits of waist beads helped me build the vision for my business. Since launching my brand and meeting all the wonderful people I’ve had the privilege to bead, I’ve been reminded, person by person, how important my work is. While they think I am providing them with a service, my customers, whom I call Delilah’s Dolls, give me so much in terms of promising and positive energy, love, and abundance.

Dedication means staying true to “the why”—always knowing your purpose and having faith that you have the resources to carry it out. It also means having the drive to continue creating and pushing forward through all obstacles. My dedication has taught me that in order to continue serving others by creating waist beads, I must take care of myself first, in every way.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

My parents came here from Haiti and built a beautiful life for me and my sister. It was not easy, and they didn’t have all the answers or resources, but they were resilient in making life good. They gave us everything they didn’t have and never stopped overflowing us with love and support. My father is a blue-collar worker, while my mother is a homemaker with a cake-making business out of our house.

My mother stayed home to be there for us every day when we returned from school. While running her business, I watched her determination and creativity flourish over the years. I witnessed countless happy customers celebrating birthdays and weddings attribute the success of their events to her creative contributions.

I attribute my drive with Beaded By Delilah to both of my parents. As always, they continue to support me in every way as I build my brand. I am forever thankful to them.
