Meet Elicia Brown

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elicia Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elicia below.

Elicia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I believe my Purpose on earth is to help others thrive and success by finding that spark with in, For as long as I can recall I have always had to care for others. I was babysitting young babies 0-6 months old to 5 yrs old when I was 7yrs old. I had to take charge of their well being and it just stuck.
I had a desire that tingle all thru my nerves and out of my mouth to advocate for others and be a voice for those that didn’t. I guess you would say my child trauma created a resource of resilience for me that I in turn used to help others break out as well.

Growing up with an alcoholic/drug addicted parent, being the oldest of then 7 children . I learned real quick how to survive. I found peace in helping others . Almost a thrill that I went out looking for. Now that didn’t help my personal relationships because of course I saw my self as the “fixer” and then was the co-enabler for them and my needs went further away. So now as a 3x divorcee with 6 children and 2 grand babies. I can say i am finally learning to put my priorities in order for self love – the love that I hand out freely to others. I was able to give myself the grace and patience. And today I am abundant in mu confidence to not only learn more and help others more but I am loving my self even more so I can GIVE more.
Some may say…she is a HUSTLER. I go getter! A mamaprenuer. And I guess that is all factual. But I love to learn and what I learn, I teach. and If i see a need I fill a need. I am now a licensed realtor in Colorado for the past 5 yrs and recently added Mortgage lon originator and have had held my Life insurance license as well for the last 3 yrs.
I packaged my knowledge and services to help those that still struggle finding their voice and speak life into their dreams of home ownership.

Being Raised in a welfare environment, on government assistance and a community that didn’t ever plan to tell you how to buy a home, I find it very empowering that I get to help others achieve this feat and I do it with love and confidence and lots of joy!

I use my struggles to learn the resolve and then help others I attract overcome them as well. Each day my purpose to connect to another person and fill a need gets bigger and bigger. I am truly blessed that I connect well with everyone i cross paths with.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My background is in Human services. I love getting close to the people i am helping. Ive served in the Homeless communities, Domestic Violence shelters – Social services and pre-trial pre release for Juveniles. I loved case management. Finding the resources and solutions to maintian stability for the famailies was my jam!

But I always had my hand in a 2nd pot – I loved the business realm for learning to recruit people nad leverage my income. by helping more people with health products or services. I learned so much while had a 13 yr career selling healthy coffee!. Yup best oxymoran around. bUt it seroously is good for you . I am no longr building a team or business but I do consume the proiducts. They are that great!

When I was approached with Real estate, I shyed away at first. Just became an assistant. Then took a customer service job in lending. It all just kept coming back to me.
I jumped on the Opportunity while i was pregnant with my 6th child. I studied long and hard and in 6 moths i was licensed!

I soon realized all the RE school taught me the legal stuff to keep me out of jail, What I really needed, I already knew – RELATIONSHIPS.
I was like a marriage between all my business entrepenuerial back ground and my case management life back in the day. Except now I didnt need to write court reports – i wrote sales contracts. I didn’t need to collect Urine analysis – I schedules home showing and Home inspections.
I didn’t need to be all serious and closed off- I got to really learn about my clients and listen to what their needs were and put the pieces together for them .

IN my trials of good contracts and bad I found out that there was a lack of good Loan officers that felt the same way i did. The curious creative piece was missing with my partners i was attracting. So the universe said- YOU DO IT.
Now as a wholesale Mortgage originator I have over 28 banks that I can workshop a clients loan and see what strategy and program best fits their needs.
ONE stop shop. My Famigos- (Family-Amigos) love that they dont have to learn to work with another person or juggle similar conversations about the same information again and again. ITs me. Simple and smooth process.
From Application to closing table.
Once they are settled in the new home I can then advise and educate how to plan for the future retirement or coverage of this major asset they just purchased, Its all very smooth.

I had been missing more of my in the trenches kinda vibe being just in real estate so I have add a section of community through a non-profit that assist single woman achieve home ownership buy providing up to 10K grants that will go towards downpayment closing cost or repairs. This equitable foundation has filled that gap of my service days and has given me more of a purpose to educate these woman , support the jounerys and empower and encourage them to KEEP going to achieve that dream.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Advocacy- Find your voice and speak your truth NO MATTER WHAT. The right people will listen and you will be heard- help others find their voice by speaking yours.

Servant hood- Give more than what you are being paid for. You will always be rewarded for your genuine deeds. The universe sees you and will bless as needed.

Persistent – no matter the challenges that come your way DON’T GIVE UP! Reassess – learn and take another leap of faith. Failure is inevitable and is necessary to success. Fail fail fail and fail again until…. you succeed.
