Dvid, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My family, the way I was brought up and knowing the sacrifices that so many have made in order for me to have the opportunities I have, keep me pushing everyday.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Dvid (dah-beed) I’m a recording artist- my grandmother brought me from Medellin Colombia to Jacksonville Florida when I was 7 and this city has raised me ever since.
Music has really given me the opportunity to understand deeper parts of my self and the world I live in, through sound- things can be expressed that I feel otherwise couldn’t.
The EP “OLAS” Drops in two months and excited to have some of these records see the light of day. A lot of different waves (OLAS) of sound, emotion and seasons as the name implies. Y’all tune in give it a listen – if anything your head will nod.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Learning that the worst thing that can happen here is death- so why wait to live? take advantage of life and give things that bring you joy and peace a try -if all else you get another day.
If my grandmother risked her life and brought her entire family out of poverty with a lot less opportunity than I now have in front of me- who I’m I to not reach for the stars ?
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
I feel like musically the sound has expanded and feels a lot more personal than the previous work
