We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Louis Grayson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Louis, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic is deeply rooted in my family’s legacy of hard work and resilience. As first-generation immigrants, my family demonstrated the value of diligence and perseverance. My grandmother, now 82, continues to work tirelessly, always seeking to improve our family’s circumstances. My mother, who bravely moved to a new country to find better opportunities for us, has been a powerful example of determination. Additionally, my uncle has been a significant mentor, instilling in me the principles of entrepreneurship and the mindset of ‘if not now, then when?’ Their dedication and guidance have profoundly shaped my approach to work and my drive to always strive for better

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Louis Grayson, and I am the proud owner of Ramen Lab Eatery, a restaurant that specializes in Asian cuisine. Our journey with Ramen Lab Eatery has been incredibly fulfilling, as we strive to provide a unique and memorable dining experience for our customers.
What excites me most about our restaurant is the fusion of traditional Asian flavors with modern culinary techniques. We are committed to quality and authenticity, and this dedication is reflected in every dish we serve. For example, grandma and her friends hand wrapping over a million dumplings a year. We showcases our diverse menu and the innovative approaches we take to bring the best of Asian cuisine to our community.
Our lab revolves around infusing modern Asian takes with genuine Japanese techniques, capturing the essence of this fusion. We’re proud of our scratch-made recipes from our ramen to our dumpling. Our specialty is crafting handmade ramen noodles, hand wrapped dumplings and in house sauces.
Our lab blends modern Asian flavors with authentic traditions, creating a dining experience that brings you close to Japan or Asia.
As an entrepreneur, I draw a lot of inspiration from my family’s legacy of hard work and perseverance. My grandmother, mother, and uncle have all played pivotal roles in shaping my work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Their dedication and resilience have taught me the importance of striving for excellence and never settling for less.
I am a firm believer in getting my hands dirty and being hands-on in every aspect of my business. Whether it’s working in the kitchen, interacting with customers, or planning new initiatives, I am deeply involved in ensuring that everything we do meets the highest standards. I always strive to make things better, constantly looking for ways to innovate and improve our offerings.
Looking ahead, we have several exciting plans for Ramen Lab Eatery. We are exapnding in palm beach county and currently workign on our 5th location. My goal is to create a lasting impact in the hospitality industry and provide exceptional dining experiences that our customers will cherish

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Be a go getter. There is never a good time to start something. By you starting, you will be ahead of most people who just think about starting something. “If not now, then when”
2. Whatever work/task you do, always do it as if it were your own business or your own personal item. Not only is this good for you but shows others you care and willing to do the best of your ability and that will lead you to more opportunities.
3. Always be honest and transparent in all you do. You are your own representation and your name is all you have so make sure it is honest and moral.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My journey as an entrepreneur and owner of Ramen Lab Eatery has been significantly shaped by my uncle, who has been the most influential person in my life. His unwavering belief in my potential and relentless support have been crucial in overcoming challenges and developing the essential skills, qualities, and knowledge needed for success.
My uncle has been like a father to me, my hardest critic, and my biggest supporter. His guidance and mentorship have taught me resilience and the importance of striving for excellence. He constantly challenged me to be the best version of myself, pushing me to innovate and improve in all aspects of my business and life.
From a young age, he instilled in me a strong work ethic and the value of getting my hands dirty. Whether it was in the kitchen, interacting with customers, or planning new initiatives, he emphasized the importance of being hands-on and deeply involved in every aspect of the business. This approach has been fundamental in ensuring that everything we do at Ramen Lab Eatery meets the highest standards.
His lessons in perseverance, hard work, and continuous improvement have been invaluable. They have shaped my approach to business and life, driving me to always strive for better and never settle for less. His influence is evident in the way we experiment with new recipes, innovate our menu, and create unique dining experiences for our customers.
In essence, my uncle’s mentorship and support have been the cornerstone of my success. His impact on my life and career is immeasurable, and I am deeply grateful for everything he has done to help me become the entrepreneur I am today.
