Meet Judy Malka

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Judy Malka a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Judy, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I think my resilience comes from life experiences, hard work, being persistent, and overcoming the most difficult challenges that you can come across. Knowing inside of you that you’re heading towards a certain goal makes me resilient.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an actor, singer, songwriter. I was born in Israel and came to America to. pursue my ballerina career. I was a kid when I got here and was enrolled to the Joffery Ballet of New York. My first acting role was on the rock opera “JCS” and it never stopped ever since. The journey to where I am today has been very long and fascinating. And no, it was not easy. I am very proud on pursuing everything that I got in my career on my own due to my personal powers, my passions, my vision, being persistent, unique & versatile.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I wish I knew back then what I knew now. The three skills that were the most impactful in my journey were being talented, having a vision, and being able to set my goals appropriately. My advice to other folks is that everyones journey is going to be different, but to always listen to others that convey advice and direction. Be super alert and super realistic.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My parents have provided one of the most important qualities that any kid can have, and that is love, and even though I grew up in poverty, my parents have been able to insert integrity, ethics, and freedom. Thats what makes me who I am today.
