We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Keanah Rodriguez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Keanah below.
Hi Keanah, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my parents. Being the oldest of four, I had to learn how to share as soon as my sister was born, it was not a hard transition for me since I watched both of my parents display their generosity on numerous occasions. From buying kids Ice cream when the ice cream drive past to buy and/or cooking for the less fortunate, my parents have always showed how important it is to bless others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
During the pandemic, people close to me were able to focus on their crafts. I was having trouble finding my own, I decided to promote theirs instead. They recieved great feedback and gained many followers and customers. I decided to make a separate page for promotion and events and the rest is history. Nearly 4 years later I am still getting hired by small business owners to create content. Being able to bring more customers to clients and build relationships with like minded people warms my heart.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Patience is key, I personally was extremely impatient and being in the content creation industry will leave you no choice but to be patient.
Never see another person as competition. I often see negativity towards people in the same industry but working together is actually more beneficial.
Communication, it is better to over communicate than under communicate. Keeping everyone on the same page and leaving no room for confusion works wonders.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I notice I feel overwhelmed when I overbook myself. Being in this industry, there are times where I don’t get booked for months. So declining jobs because I am already booked is hard for me. Being honest with clients and telling them I want give them my all and in order to do so, I can’t make myself available at that specific time and I’d love to schedule another time, works great!
