Meet Fonda Sloan

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fonda Sloan . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fonda below.

Hi Fonda , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience come from my mom. I watched her over the years overcome many obstacles that was placed in her way and she handled each one with style and grace..She made it look easy to conquer which gave me the strength to keep going and strive for greatness. My mom had the support of my dad but she moved as if she had to do everything on her own. Watching her move the way she did helped me build my resilience, I would always say “if my mom could do that so can I” this mentality pushed me through many obstacles and prepared me for the world today.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the owner of a customized clothing design company which specializes in recreating camouflage, denim and accessories. My vision is to create pieces that empower my customers to feel confident and make a statement whether in the boardroom or the classroom. The versatility of my designs allows my brand to stand apart from others. Currently I’m working on building my business credit which will give me access to business funding which will allow me the ability to  open a store front in Atlanta and New York.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My best advise would be to stay constant, remain humble and coachable. Theres a lot to learn from people thats doing what you’re inspiring to do. They can help you on your journey and assist you with reaching your goals.

The knowledge thats most impactful in my journey is learning how to treat my customers , listen to their needs , relate to their request which will gives me the information needed to deliver the customize pieces to perfection. Pay attention to the small details and relate to the things they may not say. Having people skills and the ability to communicate allows me the privilege to give them exceptional customer service and keep them coming back to support my business. Building relationships and being honest are the best traits for any business owner..

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes! I’m always looking to collaborate with like minded people that’s goal getters eager to grow, willing to learn and give back to the community.

Dealing with someone that can see your vision and believe in your brand is motivation for me. I don’t have one specific person that I would like to collaborate with but I’m always open to opportunities that will help us grow.
