We were lucky to catch up with Danielle Wilburn recently and have shared our conversation below.
Danielle, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my mother. She taught me about faith in Jesus and that opened my eyes to realize nothing is impossible. Yes, life will give you trials but you can always overcome obstacles with faith. And not just faith in God or whichever religion you believe in but faith in yourself and the will to never give up.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My first love is news. As a child, I always watched the news with my grandmother and it always fascinated me. Then, that led to a degree in journalism from the University of Memphis. Fast forward 10+ years later I’m now an award-winning producer. Even though I have a successful career in journalism, I knew I wanted to do more. I combined my passion for news and my passion to motivate others and I started a business that helps business owners better understand marketing. I teamed up with Cardell Davis of Chattanooga, TN to create The Transition: Digitally Evolving. We specialize in digital marketing. Since we launched in 2019 we have helped dozens of businesses reimagine their digital appearance.
And of course, I couldn’t stop there. I am also spreading motivation with my “Just Faith It” t-shirt line. The shirts are truly a testimony. No matter how stressed we may feel or what stage of life we’re dealing with- we have to remember to Just Faith It.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that helped me are listening, remaining humble, and being patient.
Before embarking on any great journey we have to listen. Listen to our inner self. Listen to your mentors. Listen to the audience in which you’re trying to reach.
Secondly, remain humble. People are less likely to support an arrogant person and when you think you’re better than everyone else you are less likely to learn from others. Learning from others, whether they are young or old, will help you grow.
Lastly, have the patience to trust the process. Understand your idea could be great but it may not work out the first time. Then, you may have to make some tweaks and try again, Trying again requires patience.
I believe you can develop all of these qualities if you remain intentional about your goals. No one can stop you when you are listening to your heart. Remember remaining humble will keep you hungry for greater things. Finally, being patient through the process will make the success in the end truly worth it.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We are always looking for opportunities to collab. Our ideal collaborators are graphic designers, website designers, people who specialize in making t-shirts, and people who are passionate about sharing their knowledge of social media with others. Let’s inspire the world together.
Even if you are not an expert and you want to learn about digital marketing, we offer internships.
