We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sabina Zadeh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sabina below.
Sabina , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
For me it’s been a quite long journey to develop my confidence. I was really introverted. Especially when it came to socializing with people and making new connections. Despite this is really important for an artist. I would say this changed after I found my people. I realized socializing is not that hard anymore. You just gotta find those people that’s in the same frequency as you. Also you just have to know that not everyone is going to like you or think the same as you think. But there is always people that will think like you. Just being yourself, accepting yourself the way you are will make you happy. This is how I learned to be confident. So my message is don’t try to change yourself, try finding the environment you belong.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a singer, actress and songwriter from Baku, Azerbaijan. Since I was child I was really interested in music, dancing and art. My journey has started with classical dancing. I was performing in local theatres and etc. At the same time I was singing at school concerts as a child. I always dreamed big but didn’t know where the universe will take me. My first appearance on the professional stage as a singer was when I was 15. Performing in the front of huge audience for the first time was a magical experience for me. It was the exact moment I decided that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life.
And I started participating in many other festivals/competitions inside and outside the country. As an example“The Voice”, “Festival Vitebsk” and etc. Also there is acting. I studied acting because of my love for Musicals. But unfortunately where I live this genre is not very improved so I keep focusing on music. I would love to fulfill my dreams about my acting career at the right environment for me one day.
Lately I participated at the selections for the “Eurovision song contest” and ended up in top 6th.
Now I’m working on my own songs. I started writing my own music. My new song “Violet Dreams” is coming out soon in August. The song’s music and lyrics are written by me, produced by finnish producer Janne Hyöty. It will be my first single and I’’m so excited to finally start my professional musical career.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Believing. Taking a step. Seeing the bright side in everything.
The one should always believe in themselves and their dreams no matter what are the conditions. I feel like I’m supporting the idea in a special way somehow with believing it.
Take a step. Start today without doubting. If you decide to move forward, you will. Don’t be afraid to take risks.
Seeing the bright side in everything that happens always helps. It is helpful and healthy to think that way.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
This is such an important question. Our emotional state sometimes can affect on our plans, motivation and relationships with others.
My personal guide is meditation or dancing. When I feel emotionally drained or anxious I love to move my body. Also spending time in the nature, maybe somewhere near the sea makes me feel connected, balanced and calm.
