Meet Kathy Copcutt

We were lucky to catch up with Kathy Copcutt recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kathy with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

The foundation of my strong work ethic stems from my mother. Despite the challenges of raising two children single-handedly, I witnessed her unwavering determination to provide for us by tirelessly working to ensure we had a roof over our heads. She began her journey by selling clothing at the swap meet, but she didn’t stop there. She ventured into the world of real estate and even pursued higher education to become an acupuncturist. My mother is a symbol of resilience and strength. I have witnessed her facing difficult circumstances with courage, teaching me the valuable lesson that no matter what obstacles life throws at you, you are capable of overcoming them. She has shown me that it is never too late to make a fresh start and, above all, to always pursue my dreams.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As a seasoned media professional and a lifestyle TV host recognized for my captivating contributions across the country, including networks such as KTLA 5, FOX, NBC, and CBS, among others. I have also had the opportunity to write for Mom.com, Be Kind & Co., and The Modern Day Living Magazine in the past.

We’re passionate travelers that enjoy discovering new places and fully engaging with diverse cultures. My journeys have expanded my perspectives and deepened my appreciation for the world around me.

The combination of my professional expertise and personal experiences allowed me to deliver content that resonates with my audience.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I strongly believe that when one opportunity fades away, another one emerges, even if it takes the form of a different avenue. Stay prepared and embrace new possibilities with wholehearted enthusiasm whenever they present themselves.

Persist in pursuing your aspirations, record your dreams, and continuously build upon them! Devote time to reading daily as it undoubtedly broadens your perspective and enhances your comprehension of the world. Prioritize your goals and establish a clear hierarchy. Expand your horizons by acquiring proficiency in a new language. Step outside of your comfort zone to experience personal growth. Embrace opportunities to learn and enroll in fresh educational programs. Persevere in the face of challenges and never surrender. Incorporate meditation into your routine for inner peace and clarity. Rid yourself of detrimental habits that hinder your progress.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I am overwhelmed, I seek solace in the tranquility of the beach. I find comfort in sinking my toes into the velvety sand, breathing in the invigorating ocean air, and marveling at the vastness of the sea.

Gazing at the ocean brings a sense of peace, but it’s important to remember that we can only see as far as our eyes permit. The ocean’s vastness in both length and depth is a reflection of life itself. Don’t become fixated on what’s immediately before you; there is so much more ahead.

Once I have regained a sense of calm and centeredness, I begin to prioritize my tasks, set realistic and attainable goals, and create a structured schedule. Moreover, I understand the importance of taking regular breaks, practicing self-care, delegating responsibilities when possible, and ensuring a clutter-free and organized environment. These practices play a vital role in maintaining a sense of control and reducing stress levels.
