Meet Mia Budgets

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mia Budgets. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mia below.

Mia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I believe I found my purpose by taking a look at what I was already doing for people naturally. Looking at what people came to me for answers on, without me “offering a service” but, just because they trusted that I had an answer for them by how I lived my own life. Along with how fulfilling it was for me to help and I definitely wasnt being paid yet! So, there was no carrot on the other end of the string persay. I heavily encourage others to tap into this within themselves as well.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

The name Budgeting Past the Weekend came to me because I see so many people only focus on very short term pleasures like a party, event or vacation and then after that “thing” is over they’re scrambling financially and never really planning for the long term. With that being said BPTW focuses on empowering people typically overlooked by traditional financial education such as entrepreneurs, in basic financial literacy with a focus on money management and budgeting for sustainability.

We do this through group workshops, 1:1 coaching and books.

In everything, effectively explaining HOW to execute the information given is what sets us apart. Every avenue of teaching that is utilized is intentionally as simplistic as possible.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

When I look back over my journey a few qualities that I believe have kept me sustained and have been the most impactful were my resilience, being clear on my purpose in everything and having a lifeline of prayer.

For those that are early on, always clearly identify the goal for whatever it is that you’re doing. In my experience, once that is clearly determined it minimizes lots of wasted time & energy on things, people & places that serve no true value to your life.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

The remainder of 2024 and beyond has been dedicated to partnerships because I understand that you can go fast alone but, you can go farther together.
With that being said BPTW is looking to continue to create & build relationships with organizations that serve in the financial literacy space.
There is a big difference between making money and managing money which is the gap that we’re filling by giving the foundational tools to entrepreneurs to sustain, not just obtain.
Entrepreneurship can be hard to say the least and even harder when you’re not making informed decisions just for the lack of simple and available information.
