Meet Kimberly Jones

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kimberly Jones a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kimberly with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I bleieve my ethics are deeply rooted in my faith.
I grew up in a 2 parent household where I would attend church regulary with my family (I was the youngest of 4). later my parents fostered over 100 children and later adopted (we are now a family of 10 siblings) I was always an overachiever in my academics, but at 15 I became pregant and at 16th I was giving birth to my son.
I was shamed out of my scholarship that I was supposed to received from the church that left me embarrassed, insecured, and depressed; eventually resulted me in delaying my college journey.
My father was my inspiration of resilience on overcoming obstacles in life. My father’s highest education level was 8th grade but he managed to work at Eastman Kodak a global technology company (known for their digital cameras) as an egineer.
He taught me to not only fight for those things that I belived in but also deman confiende on the things that I know to be true.
He often reminded me that “God alone, is the true author of our lives, it is up to you to align your life with the plans God has written in the Bible just for you” His sentiments stills is true today as I continue to seek my guidance from God in every area of my life.
Not only are my personal core values are driven by my faith but my companies core values are built on scriptures that help me stay grounded, focused on the mission and vision and execution of services.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As the owner of KYJ Consulting LLC, I am deeply passionate about driving innovation and excellence in the IT business sector. My company specialize in providing tailored IT solutions that empower business to achieve thie strategic objectives and thrive in a competitive market.
I believe that the most special aspect of the company is the foundation built on God’s values. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I would say the three qualities that was the most impactful was Vision, Relationships, and Adatability. Being able to envision the future, finding scripture to support my vision and putting forth personal and biblical goals into an action plan helped me to set clear directions for the company. The ability to adapt to changing circumstanes is never easy. Being prepared for the unknowns, was to not take anything personal and reminding myself that life is ever revolving. Keeping skills up to date or willingness not to be afraid to learn new skills helps to remain innovative and ready for the changes in technologies.
Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the intersts of the others” is a reminder on how relationships should be viewed. Building strong relationships built on Phillipians has been the foundation to my success. Effecitive communication and collaboration has fostered trust and long-lasting partnerships.
The advice I would. offer is to embrace constious learning and keeping yourself updated with new skills and knowledge in your industry. Invest time in building and nurturing relationships, learn to move from mentoring into sponsoring which is simply putting those skills into action to come out of comfort zones. Finally, stay true to your values. Let your core values guide your decisions and actions. Focusing on these areas will help navigate anyone’s entrepreneurail journey with confidence and purpose.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

Building capital for the business is always challegning when starting out. I often remind myself of Phillippians 4:19 “And in all thing God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus”, therefore don’t worry. Trusting in God’s provision has aligned me to receive Godly blessings from strangers and people that belives in my buisness.
Here is a testimony for the people:
I quit my government job (March 19,2024) to start KYJ Consulting LLC. I prayed, fasted, found scripture to support my vision and put a plan in place. I attended multiple seminars and workshops to learn from the industry best. I had NO money for the business only skills, faith and relationships. Where everyone stated that I needed 2 years of income to receive business credit and lines of credits, I was able to receive both in the second month of starting. I was also able to become the CEO of another small business with a multi-million dollar portfolio, and then I became a sub contractor on a project that also exceed more than I could even imagine.
I have only been in business for 2.5 months and now have an income four times than my annual government salary.
It is only by God’s grace and mercies that I am here doing this business.
I now have the freedom to help others and pay it forward. In the near future I plan on creating a foundation dedicated to helping young childern to code and play golf to help foster both intellectual and personal development.
