We recently connected with Sierra Coleman and have shared our conversation below.
Sierra, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose in the darkest times of my life. Going into different environments, facilities & living with strangers, I had to adapt quick. I remember sitting in jail talking to different people and I began to notice that I would naturally want to offer advice and help with words of encouragement to them. I realized how everyone I spoke to would take something away from our conversations. Which helped me realize that I was called to speak, encourage and motivate. Which is my life’s purpose.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am an influencer & motivational speaker. I have a very eccentric way of encouraging other people! What I am passionate about is seeing someone else overcoming hardships in life because I have faced many myself. I also use my gifts & voice to empower others to never give up in life! Suicide is real and so is depression, so my focus is to ignite the passion to want to live again!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I have learned many things. I’d say being adaptable, open to change and having good communication were the most impactful qualities on my journey. I will say this, the more adaptable you are the more open to change you are and the more open to change you are the better you communicate. In the end you will always succeed and have what you want. To others, I say go within. Everything you desire is already within you waiting to be tapped into. Your divine right.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
BREATHE! that’s number one. Next thing, is to ground yourself. It’s okay to feel, embrace things but ultimately important to also let go of things. Being in nature is the surest way to connect to the Most High. Every creation in all its beauty, here for us. Meditation has been a game changer for me. While prayer is good when overwhelmed, I find that meditation alongside prayer is a secret weapon.
