Meet Ashley Thompson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Thompson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Ashley, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Being a single parent of 3, resiliency is something I had to learn to master. The ability to bounce back after a difficult experience, is a skill in itself, and adding children to the equation, makes it that much more important. Children/family is the driving factor to being resilient.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Ashley Thompson, co-owner of Fork & Knife Design Co. Our brand began as a food blog and blossomed into a Space Design company! We work with our clients to bring their visions alive through design, organization, and planning. At the start of 2023 we launched a new service, Space Organization. This service allows us to assists our clients with decluttering and organizational needs in their private spaces.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As we approach our one year anniversary, we reflect on past decisions and brainstorm about how we can improve as a brand. Consistency has always been the word to live by. The growth of our company is the outcome of our consistency through social media presence, digital marketing, and partnerships with clients, while thinking outside of the box. Building relationships with clients and learning your demographic to the areas you service, is also a skill that helps us in strengthening our brand. Developing a bond with your clients, ensures not only repeat business, but also helps attract new clients as well. Social media has helped us understand the audience that we are marketing to. We are able to dive into those numbers and percentages and learn more about who needs what, when, and where. Our advice to anyone just starting our or is looking for that push to start, would be to just DO IT!

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When feeling overwhelmed, its helpful to take a step back and catch your breath. Sometimes your brain can be moving a 1000 mph and you need a little time to catch up. Once I’ve gathered myself, I’ve found it helpful to write out a to-do list. When writing this list, its important to prioritize the tasks based off the level of importance and time frame for execution. This will allow you strategically complete all things on your list and also ensure you meet whatever deadlines you had as well.
