We were lucky to catch up with Gracie Singleton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Gracie , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
While finding one’s purpose is often a large, looming question, for us, it boils down to one thing: living to honor God. My business partner Cece and I are rooted in Christ, so for us, our purpose is simply to serve the Lord and follow the path that He has set for us. We strive to be encouraging, loving, and to do our best to show people the Lord’s Spirit through us, so it was an easy choice to begin an event planning service. Our goal with every party and event that we get to plan is to make sure that it is a dream come true! From decor to vendors to transportation, we want everyone to experience their perfect party and to help them see that they are incredibly special!
Ultimately, our purpose is found in God, and He has allowed us to share such special moments with others as we help them achieve all that they can dream up! Through this fun, creative, and energetic purpose that He has given us, we get to share the glory of the God by loving others!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
At Bach ‘n Style, we are your one stop shop to party ‘n peace! We have seen the craziness that goes into event planning, and we want to alleviate that stress! We have such a passion for creativity, social life, and of course, crazy amounts of organization, so we thought it would be silly for us not to help out where we can! From the ideas in the beginning to the clean up at the end, we are there to curate, support, and ensure that you enjoy one of the most memorable times of your life!
What I find to be most exciting about my job is the moment when everything comes together, and I get to see the reaction of those that the event is for. Typically, people are running around and stressed out during events, and they don’t get to just enjoy being with the people they care about. My favorite part of this job is getting to see relaxed and excited guests fall in love with the people they are with and the venue! I love getting to be a part of so many people’s stories, and I find it incredible to see others getting to enjoy celebrating their time!
Bach ‘n Style is rooted in the idea of loving others. We get to serve people by curating unique experiences for each individual party, and it means everything to us that you trust our abilities! We believe that each person is different in their own way, and we strive to make sure that each party represents those it is for. To us, no one is “just a customer” but rather each person has their own flare that we want to showcase!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Although we are still new and have much to learn, I would say that industry research, thinking outside the box, and balance are three qualities that were incredibly impactful. Going into the event space, Cece and I did not know the full scope of what we were entering into, and doing research ourselves as well as talking with talented individuals in the space already was a large part of our start. Once we had that beginning knowledge, we moved forward in our journey in less traditional routes. We threw a couple parties before being “official,” and it was the best decision for us! We didn’t follow a traditional path or instruction, but we jumped right in! That scary, non-traditional thinking was huge for us, and we owe it to our mentor, Ryan Reisdorf. Finally, looking back, balance was so important. I definitely prioritized the business over everything else which was not good for me mentally, physically, or relationally. I encourage everyone to live with ambition but also balance.
For those that are just starting, my best advice is to have balance. It is important to be ambitious and driven, but you can’t do anything well if you don’t sleep. This was something I struggled with, and I would recommend following an untraditional path to see where your journey takes you. While it is great to hear from mentors and those that have expertise, at the end of the day, it is still your journey, so take in advice and knowledge, and make your own path!
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents are amazing. Hands down, I won the parent lottery! That being said, both my mom and dad are incredibly hard working, and they instilled that work ethic in me. Through both demonstrating through their actions and explaining to me different situations, they taught me the importance of being driven, hard working, and independent. Without the skills and knowledge they demonstrated to me everyday, I would not be who I am today. It is through their characters and beliefs that I am a believer in Christ, dedicated to doing my best, and love to love people!
