Meet Keveisha Strawberry

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keveisha Strawberry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Keveisha, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from my bloodline, strength and courage are naturally within my DNA. When I was 3 weeks old my mother, who was 18 at the time, was intentionally hit by a car where she suffered severe brain damage and short term memory loss for the rest of her life. She had to learn how to eat, walk, breathe on her own again. Since the accident she has completely transformed herself, not allowing a mild case of dementia stop her. She spread high vibrations, love and compassion in every interaction which inspires me to do the same, and never give up on myself despite the challenges I face in life. My late grandmother was also the epitome of strength and resilience as she helped heal my mother back to complete health. She then on raised a family of 4 in a small town neighborhood, low income housing, and no job. We survived on government assistance and help from the community to make ends meet. When she transcended this realm in 2008, I knew I gained a guardian angel. I myself have developed a strong spiritual connection with Source, my spiritual guides and ancestors which has developed a strong foundation for my resilience as well. Through life’s adversities I learned to be grateful for where I am, resourceful with what I have and faithful to myself and the divine. Asè

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Keveisha Strawberry, and I’m from the small town of Eastern Shore, MD. This is my story.

At just three weeks old, my mother, Roshonda Strawberry, was intentionally hit by a car and suffered a severe brain injury at the age of 18. While she gradually recovered, she was diagnosed with dementia, a condition she would live with for the rest of her life. During her recovery, I was cared for by various close friends and family members.

My grandmother, Patricia Strawberry, was instrumental in nursing my mother back to health. She also raised me, my older brother, and my aunt in a four-bedroom apartment in Denton, MD. We lived in subsidized housing and relied heavily on government assistance and community support services.

Growing up as an empath in a tough neighborhood was incredibly challenging. I was surrounded by toxic environments and experienced verbal, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I witnessed my parental figures struggle with alcoholism and depression, and I often felt silenced, observing everything but rarely speaking out.

My social life and friendships were difficult as well. Raised in a harsh environment, I was often bullied by those close to me, who believed that this would teach me to stand up for myself. They thought beating the fear out of me was the most logical approach.

Despite these challenges, I displayed exceptional talent from a young age. I participated in dance groups, step teams, parades, plays, church dance events, track, and cheerleading. I was frequently chosen to be in the spotlight, and I thrived on the recognition of my creative abilities.

When I wasn’t dancing, I was surviving my circumstances. My grandmother, though not perfect, was a strong, wise, and respected woman. She saw my potential early on and made me promise to make something of my life.

At 13, I found my grandmother unconscious in the kitchen after she had suffered a massive stroke. I rode with her in the ambulance, and those were the last moments I spent with her. After her funeral, my abusive father claimed full custody of me, turning my life into a prison.

I moved to a new home and high school while grieving my grandmother’s death. My father kept me isolated, without electronics or outside communication, for four years. During this time, I journaled, drew pictures, read books, and learned to do my own hair. I endured brutally hot summers and freezing winters, patiently waiting until my 18th birthday to leave and never return.

Fast forward to today, and I am a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. I have traveled to over 20 states and recently took my first overseas trip. I have worked in various leadership roles across multiple career fields, including health services management, corporate America, manufacturing, fast food, door-to-door sales, and delivery. I even owned my own clothing brand. These experiences have equipped me with diverse skills, which I am now using to co-create a new business.

Earth Angels Empire is the school of life that everyone wishes they had. I teach individuals how to live a high-vibrational lifestyle connected to the Source consciousness within and around us. My mission is to inspire others to transform their pain into purpose. As a lightworker and intuitive reader, I bridge the spiritual and physical worlds through tarot and oracle cards, active meditation, and creative expression.

I also offer Spiritual Transformation Consultations, guiding individuals through their spiritual awakenings and major life transitions. Earth Angels Empire is a new chapter that I am working on, and we will soon be accepting enrollees.

As a free-spirited creator, I have often been in survival mode, but now I am ready to embrace this new chapter of co-creation with spirit. I write songs and poetry for self-encouragement and am excited to step out of survival mode and into a new, empowered narrative. I am grateful for the opportunity to rewrite my story and share it with the world. Asè, and so it is!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

**Developing Faith** – You must have faith in a higher power beyond yourself. During my most challenging times—being homeless with my disabled mother, moving from house to house with family, or escaping an abusive relationship by packing all my belongings in my car and leaving in the middle of a snowstorm in Ohio—I found strength in my faith. In those moments when I had nothing tangible, my faith in God and my spiritual team gave me the strength, power, and courage to leave difficult circumstances by my own free will. I knew that because I was made in the image of God and deeply connected to Source, the ground would always be beneath me wherever I walked. And it will be for you, too.

**Cultivating Gratitude** – For years, I watched others surpass me in their careers, love lives, and finances. It used to bother me until I began detoxing from social media. Detaching from the validation of others and honoring my own healing process freed me from the pressure to be successful. By focusing on the Divine in every aspect of my day, I recognized the abundance I already had. Abundant in nature, in love with myself and Source, and with time to be still, I realized this richness surpassed any luxury I thought I needed.

**Balance** – I’ve always believed “too much of anything is not good,” and “too little of anything is no good either.” Establishing a balanced daily practice is still a work in progress, but self-discipline in maintaining balance has been transformative. Fasting for 21 days from my usual pleasures helped me laser-focus on what my mind, body, and soul truly needed. I had to endure withdrawals, cry alone, hug myself, and breathe through it. By the end of the 21-day fast, I had shifted so profoundly that there was no returning to my old ways. I had shed my old layers and there was no fitting back into that shell. Asè, and so it is.
