Meet Chloë-charlotte Crampton

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chloë-charlotte Crampton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chloë-Charlotte below.

Chloë-Charlotte, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I think I’ve always been driven, motivated and have had a lot of things happen in my life that made me have to grow up very quickly as a child which built my resilience from a young age. I always had a hustler mentality and worked hard my whole life. I fought to get scholarships at the best schools in the UK. I acted for many years and fought to win roles and be the best I could be. I moved to the U.S. when I was 19 alone and built a life here which took a lot of inner strength. So when I was Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 I really leant on my resilience I had built up throughout my life. I knew I would get through it like everything else and had the strength to thrive after it all.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I started out as an actress and transitioned over to the private chef world about 7 years ago now. I am a private chef to celebrities with my main client being Simon Cowell. After being diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer in 2021 at 32 years old I decided to add another tool to my toolbox and become a nutrition coach to help other people who are going through their own health events in their life. I post recipes on my website and Instagram @chloeskitchen and advocate for other young women with breast cancer, organizing events around the Los Angeles area. I’m currently working on a cook book with all my anti inflammatory recipes. And I work with breast cancer charities to raise money and awareness. In between cheffing for small events in your home around the LA area, I also develop recipes for brands like Jenni Kayne and Amber interiors and create content for different food brands. I offer nutrition coaching in clients homes, going through their pantries, teaching about problematic ingredients and making clean swaps, then teaching you how to cook healthy recipes for your family and that will be nutrious and helpful for your body while you go through chemo.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I spent all my childhood baking, cooking and writing down recipes as a hobby. I have notebooks full of recipes and ideas. I grew up watching my Nonna cooking in the kitchen and her passion for cooking rubbed off on me a so when I switched from acting to cooking, I believe it’s what I was always meant to do because I had been passionate about food and feeding people my whole life. Even when I was acting, I would bring my recipes to set for the crew to try. When I first started private cheffing I worked 7 days a week, 15 hours a day to hustle and build my business and brand and get where I am today. It was hard work and a slog, it still is. Getting home from a long day and editing a reel, posting a recipe, testing a recipe, filming content, planning an event, scheduling a zoom and emailing brands back and forth for your own one woman business is a 24/7 job but I feel grateful I get to be here doing what I love end single day. So my advice is, find what you love, be passionate about it, and work your arse off until you get where you want to be.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

Balancing all the many things I do can sometimes get overwhelming when my hands are in so many different boxes. Cooking for clients, planning events for breast cancer awareness, nutrition coaching clients, creating content and recipes for brands, collaborating on different upcoming projects, and staying on top of my own health and healing journey. But since I finished my breast cancer treatment I make sure to prioritize one day a week for self care. Whether that’s going to my acupuncturist, or reiki healer. Getting a lymphatic massage and going to an infrared sauna. Getting my nails done, then getting lunch with a girl friend after some Pilates or yoga class. Or reading in a bubble bath with some candles. Take little moments for yourself whenever you can. Your body needs it, your mind needs it and your soul needs it. Stress and rushing around can make you sick. So even though life gets busy, make sure to enjoy those little moments in between and prioritize yourself always.
