We recently connected with Gabriel Paul and have shared our conversation below.
Gabriel, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I would say that my work ethic comes from my mother. She always told me that if I am not going to do something 100% then don’t do it at all. She was my biggest fan and my biggest critic, always with love.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hello all, I am Gabriel Paul, what I do currently is own a franchise (Cold Stone Creamery). This journey has been very exciting and has it difficult times. The ups and downs. The process is not an easy one at all. All the ice cream is made in house daily. We have a series of products from waffle cones, bowls, cupcakes, cookie sandwiches, to cakes. Everything you see in the store is produce in house. The goal is to continue to expand and grow the business.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say three qualities that are the most impactful in my journey are: communication, hard work, and faith/patience.
Everyone is different and with whatever their qualities, skills, etc. are, you should always feel like there is room for improvement. Another thing I would say is, don’t be afraid to ask questions and communicate effectively. You can get better at anything if you push yourself and are willing to put in the hard work, time and dedication.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
I think the most impactful thing my mother did for me is let me know that nothing is free in this world and anything you want to do in this world you can do it. You have to put your mind to and get it done. Having me play sports growing up, which believe it or not teaches a lot with adversity, my mother was very hard on me when it came to anything I did or was involved with.
