We recently connected with Memo Vargas and have shared our conversation below.
Memo, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
For many years a acted unconsciously doing and behaving according my interpretation of others patterns and belief system. We all want to belong to a something, I called that something the club, and we adapt ourselves to be part of the club until we realize we don’t belong to that club and move to the next one.
Building confidence is realizing that you are your own club by taking the time to know yourself, learning about why you think the way you do, getting in touch with your values, accepting you for who you are, embracing you, living you and being you. Then you can accept others with aligned values to your own club.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a real estate broker with a global perspective, my mission is to inspire others to live happier and wealthier lives through strategic investments in real estate. My journey began with a deep passion for helping people find not just homes, but opportunities—whether it’s a place to live, work, or invest. What excites me most about my work is the ability to guide individuals and businesses through the complex landscape of real estate, helping them to see the potential in every property and market, no matter where it is.
My brand, “Your Real Estate Amigo,” embodies a casual yet professional approach, making complex real estate transactions accessible and understandable for everyone, particularly entrepreneurs and business-minded individuals who are curious about international opportunities. With certifications like CIPS, CRS, ePro, C2EX, BPoR, and more, I am committed to providing top-tier service and expertise to my clients.
Currently, I’m focused on expanding my reach with a new video series, “Descubre con tu Real Estate Amigo,” which features 15-minute capsules on real estate and investment opportunities. This program, created in collaboration with other experts, is designed to educate and inspire viewers to explore diverse markets, including regions around the globe.
I’m also excited about my role as an ambassador for Mexico and AMPI (Asociacion Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios) through the Austin Board of Realtors, where I continue to build bridges between markets and create new opportunities for investors. Whether you’re looking to buy, sell, or invest, my goal is to be your trusted guide in navigating the ever-changing world of real estate.
As NAHREP 10 (National Association of Hispanic Real Professionals) certified instructor I’m passionate to educate and share principles to build wealth, health and confidence.
My newest project is to extend my passion helping others do the same through “Real Estate Amigos”, a Spanish speaking real estate network with the vision to bring Spanish speaking professionals and investors together to help each other including clients grow financially, personally and spiritually.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
A couple of bankruptcies financially and emotional shakes your thinking and belief system.
From those challenges I started to questioned my belief and behavior and realized that I was doing and acting the same way others did and acted when I was growing up that I didn’t like.
That was one of the turning points that took me to learn more about myself, human behavior, personality assessments, fears, strengths and more, Once I learned about me I accepted myself, forgive myself, embraced myself, loved myself and started being myself. I became authentic.
Take the time to really know yourself, accept you for who you are, forgive you for whatever you regret, embrace you, love you and become yourself. It takes time and commitment but is like falling in love with you again.
Take the time to know your values. Values are the compass that guide our behavior.
Surround with people who challenge your to be better.
Be curious, keep learning, keep growing, live until you die.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
In my early years as an entrepreneur I was very driven but not at peace. I was arrogant, dictatorial and careless living under stress always chasing and achieving. Drinking to dumb the stress,
Now I’m happy and a peace but my drive is not there.
I realized I’m in different seasons in life but part of me wants to bring the drive back to leave the world better than I found it by inspiring others that are going through similar situations. I like reading and just came across a book, Shine, and the book ignited my drive, “It’s possible to be driven and be complete a peace”
My challenge at the moment is to bring my drive back to impact a lot more people. The way I’m approaching it is having more conversations including the opportunity given by Bold Journey.
