Hi Israel, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My surroundings as well as my family. Growing up in New York it seemed like everything in life was “bigger than you” it was such an inspiring place that gave you hope that you could be “BIG” one day. My parents were also big dreamers especially for their children. Whatever art form or sport we found ourselves in, my parents wanted us to be great.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I have been in Los Angeles for over a Year now and my focus has shifted to Curating/Hosting events, modeling & being a Tv Personality. I will be joining Lisa Vanderpumps team at Sur to Event host & work part time. I am excited to film more YouTube projects this year. I have been featured on Jubilee multiple times as well as Brian Teradas “BeFree” channel. As the future is uncertain, I am thankful for the many people that continue to follow me as I grow in this industry.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Passion : There are so many people that have settled into monotone living. Some may be because their dream didn’t come to fruition when they would’ve wanted but passion keeps you in the game. There is a greater reason why we’re on this earth and you must allow your passion to drive you to pursue it.
2. Hard work : Get your A** up and work 🤣 The most successful people, not just financially but mentally, spiritually & physically put in the work to get to where they desire to go in life. Being black, queer & Christian, I have to bust my butt way harder than the people next to me. Ask yourself how bad do you want it?
3. LOVE: People will always remember the way you made them feel when you interact with them. Being stuck up, bitter or angry is the ugliest look to me. Loving people well inspires others to do the same.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Definitely how I respond to huge let downs. I’ve learned a lot this year in the area of relationships. I’ve been hurt pretty badly but one thing I did realize within myself is that I can never control the bad things that happen to good people but I can control the way I respond to it.
