Meet Taya Hawkins

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Taya with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I think i get my work ethic from my mom. She has always been a hard worker while i was growing up but honestly whatever you want you definitely gotta work for it so that’s what i do.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What i do is nails and toes. All in all what i do is make others feel good about themselves after my services. When being serviced by me it makes others feel good because nails and toes are a luxury, i’d like to say i’m pretty good at what i do so even putting tips on makes my girls feel good. i not only service them but i listen to all they have to say whether it’s personal or putting their input, im there to listen. My ultimate goal is to take my online nail supply & make it a store front as well! I will be have a new drop online sometime in July!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Practice, patience, love & determination. I know those are 4 but let me explain why. I practiced until i got where i am. You have to be patient when it comes to learning designs or even gaining followers and clientele. You must LOVE what you do! Don’t do it because the world is doing it, find your niche! I came up with short term goals for myself with my determination & now i have long term goals for myself

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Owning a business is very hard! It can be slow & sometimes it can be BOOMING! Even though i pretty much do everything on my own and prefer to do it on my own, it’s always okay to let others in and i learned that all 2022. I was going through a rut of depression and suicidal thoughts all last year because things weren’t moving for me at all. The only way i overcame that challenge was by having my mom and boyfriend there with me helping me, trusting me and believing in me that i can make it. that’s one of my biggest challenges because when things get bad for me i see it as HORRIBLE. but without having a support group it feels so hard but thankfully my mom and my boyfriend talk me into believing that i will do better, in my mind believing is one of the qualities you need to be successful and they helped me realize that.
