Meet Alexander Bon

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexander Bon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alexander, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I draw my resilience from inspiration from world makeup artists and beauty bloggers, as well as modern pop music and classical literature. The colors, textures, and shapes of nature can serve as the basis for creating unique makeup. Paintings, sculptures, and other works of art. Designer trends and collections. Images and styles presented in films and on stage. Fashion and makeup from different historical eras. Traditional images and symbols of different nations. Inspiration from one’s own emotions and experiences.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I have been working as a makeup artist for over five years, I teach this profession, I have been running my beauty blog on Instagram for over a year, where I post different creative bright makeups. I came to the world of makeup from photography, in my teenage years I really liked taking photos, but I did not find success in this and on the advice of my relatives I retrained as a makeup artist. I graduated from university several years ago, and by education I am a philologist, I really love culture and art and it is these experiences that help me develop in makeup

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1) Love what you do
2) Practice a lot
3) Don’t give up

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My mentor, my inspirer, my teacher, an incredibly talented person – Natalina Klyueva (Natalina MUA), a famous makeup artist and beauty blogger. My mom and my family, who always supported me in all my endeavors, and also my partner, who helped me at the beginning of my career as a makeup artist.
