Meet Reagan Weichold

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Reagan Weichold. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Reagan, so happy to have you on the platform with us today and excited to chat about your lessons and insights. Our ability to make good decisions can massively impact our lives, careers and relationships and so it would be very helpful to hear about how you built your decision-making skills.

I’ve developed my decision-making skills by getting really intentional about planning and prioritizing. I make it a habit to set aside time to think about my goals, both big and small. Having a clear sense of what I want to achieve helps me stay focused and avoid getting sidetracked. Reading Bob Goff’s book, Dream Big, really pushed me to think about what I want to achieve in life. One exercise from the book that I found incredibly helpful was writing out a list of 100 dreams. It made me realize how much more I could aim for, and gave me a clear vision of what I want my future to look like.

When it comes to making decisions, I always ask myself, ‘Will this help me reach my goals?’ This keeps me on track and ensures that the choices I make are moving me in the right direction.

By consistently using this method, I’ve found that I can make decisions with more confidence, knowing they’re aligned with what I really want to accomplish.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m Reagan Weichold, a dog photographer who’s passionate about capturing the unique bond between dogs and their owners. My work focuses on creating images that highlight not only the personality of each dog but also the special connection they share with their humans.

One of the most exciting aspects of my work is finding creative ways to pose dogs and their people, ensuring that everyone looks their best. I love the challenge of discovering those perfect angles that ensure both the dots and their people look their best.

Having had the opportunity to work at a marketing agency that specializes in working with pet companies, I’ve been stepping into the world of brand photography and collaborating with influencers. As my brand continues to grow, I’m excited to expand my offerings and explore new creative avenues that blend my love for dogs with innovative marketing strategies. This experience has given me valuable insights into what resonates with audiences, and I’m eager to bring that expertise into my photography business, creating impactful, story-driven content for pet brands.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three things that have been most impactful in my journey are creativity, perseverance, and adaptability.

Creativity has been at the heart of everything I do, especially in photography. Whether I’m working with dogs or photographing wildlife, thinking outside the box and seeing things from unique perspectives has helped me create images that truly connect with people. For anyone just starting out, my advice is to always embrace your creativity—don’t be afraid to try new things and take risks. The more you experiment and push your boundaries, the more you’ll grow as an artist.

Perseverance has also been key. The journey hasn’t always been smooth, and there have definitely been challenges along the way. But staying committed to my goals, even when things got tough, has made all the difference. If you’re at the beginning of your journey, I’d say keep going, no matter what. When you face setbacks, remember that they’re just opportunities to learn and get better.

Lastly, adaptability has been crucial, especially in a field that’s always changing like photography and marketing. Being open to learning new skills and adjusting to changes has helped me stay relevant and continue growing. My advice here is to be open-minded and willing to step out of your comfort zone. Whether it’s picking up a new tool or trying a different approach, being adaptable will keep you moving forward.

For anyone early in their journey, focus on cultivating these qualities, and you’ll be well on your way to success.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely! I’m always excited to collaborate with pet companies and pet influencers. If you’re in the pet industry, whether as a brand or an influencer, and are interested in partnering, I’d love to connect!

Beyond capturing the unique bond between dogs and their owners, I have a deep love for wildlife and conservation. This passion has led me to incredible places like Kenya, Alaska, and India, where I’ve had the privilege of photographing some of the world’s most majestic animals in their natural habitats. I’m always eager to create connections and learn from others who share a passion for conservation, so if that’s something close to your heart, I’d love to chat!

I also believe strongly in helping others, just as so many have helped me on my journey. If you have questions or simply want to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
