Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kenzie Harr. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kenzie , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I think a lot of this came from really doing a lot of work DAILY to not care what people think and this has not been an easy thing for me at all. I feel I was born confident with really high self esteem but then as I grew up this began to dissipate due to other peoples opinions getting in the way. I allowed them to steal my confidence and self esteem but then through a lot of deep work I realised I was able to take that back from them and not let anyone steal it again. Most of my insecurities come from what other people say/think of me and I used to let it affect me BIG time but now I refuse to let anyone dim my shine! If you aren’t lifting me up I don’t want you around! 😉

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I have been in the industry for a lonnnng time now and I recently decided to leave LA after 10 years there. Don’t get me wrong I love LA and always will but it has changed so drastically lately and I felt no sense of community. I now much prefer NY and my new home Bali! So many creatives there living on an island and I’m happy with auditions online I can do them from anywhere and live abroad! Currently I am working on my own label hopefully launching in 2025 and writing a few fun projects that I hope to get developed- I also am actively working on Tik Tok skits and am loving that platform more than IG these days!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience and Confidence: The entertainment industry can be challenging, with lots of rejection and intense scrutiny. Building resilience and maintaining confidence in yourself is essential to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.
Advice: Focus on self-care and surround yourself with supportive people. Embrace your uniqueness, and don’t let rejection shake your belief in yourself. Confidence is key—both on and off the stage or set.
Versatility and Adaptability:
Impact: Being versatile and adaptable has allowed me to take on a wide range of roles and projects. Whether it’s switching between different genres, looks, or even entire careers, versatility keeps things exciting and opens up more opportunities.
Advice: Stay open to trying new things, and don’t box yourself into one type of role or look. Take classes, explore different aspects of the industry, and keep pushing your boundaries. This will not only make you more marketable but also help you grow as an artist.
Networking and Relationship-Building:
Impact: Building strong relationships within the industry has been incredibly important. Connections can lead to new opportunities, collaborations, and support systems that make all the difference in a demanding field.
Advice: Be genuine and professional in all your interactions. Attend events, engage with peers, and don’t be afraid to reach out to others in the industry. Remember, it’s not just about who you know but also how you treat them. Good relationships can take you far.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
Right now, my acting career feels like it’s at a standstill. Since the strike ended, there’s been much less work, and it feels like my auditions are just disappearing into the void—I rarely get any feedback, which can be really disheartening. It’s made me question whether I should keep pursuing this path or if it’s time to let go. But despite these doubts, I know I have to keep going. I’m holding on to hope, trusting that things will turn around, and trying to stay focused on why I started this journey in the first place.
