Meet Megan Dadsi

We recently connected with Megan Dadsi and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

I see being the only one in the room that may not look like me as beautiful and empowering. I use looking different as an advantage it helps me to share with the world who I am and at the same time it represents many women that may look like me that choose to dress modestly.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

La Zwina Boutique all started from under a tent at our local community pop ups and bazzar events 7 years ago. I was inspired by the need and the lack of accessibility to modest fashion in our community. Through the demand and endless possibilities of modest and modern fashion La Zwina Boutique found a home in the Little Arabia District, Anaheim last year. The boutique serves all women with modest yet stylish clothing where every women can feel comfortable and confident. The Boutique is unique as it continues to serve all women from all different backgrounds and faiths by providing daily modest wear that can be difficult to impossible to access in regular retail stores. Our mission is to empower all women who choose a modest lifestyle without having to compromise their individuality or their lifestyle!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think 3 qualities that were the most impactful on my journey is being able to show that there is so much beauty in modest styling and dressing, with our boutique we create a unique and in person modest shopping experience, we continue to make it affordable and accessible to all.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

Too often the Fashion Industry can portray modest dressing with less variety of styles, less accessibility, and too often overpriced. At La Zwina Boutique we love to show that modesty is beautiful with offering a variety of different styles, making it accessible, and affordable.
