Meet Lisa Bengtson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lisa Bengtson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Lisa with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I grew up in a small town in Northeast Kansas on a hobby farm with two working parents. When I was in grade school, I had to get up in the dark and go out to the farm and feed my bottle calves before catching the school bus. My parents instilled that we all had to pitch in and help out around the house.

My older brother, Brice taught me entrepreneurship from a young age. Brice had a lawn mowing business in junior high and high school and I loved to tag along and be his assistant. Luckily for him, labor was cheap in the 90’s and he offered to pay me in Cherry Cokes from the local grocery store vending machine for 35 cents! When Brice took off for college, I took over his business and became a business owner at the age of 13. When it wasn’t prime time mowing season, I was busy with other jobs in high school and college including babysitting, an assistant at a law office, a bank teller, and a certified personal trainer.

I didn’t know any other way besides working hard to earn the things I needed and/or wanted.

This quote has everything to do with the business that I have created. It’s so important to my business to build a trusting relationship with our clients. Being in Digital Marketing, I get to see the most intimate parts of people’s businesses. Things like their actual traffic, sales, and where they struggle to grow. Trust is the key ingredient for success with my clients.

We still need a way to get there with trust as our destination. Lucky for us, that is our specialty! We achieve this through providing essential services to YOUR business like Website Design, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Review Marketing, Social Media, Branding Photography, Paid Ads, Blogs, Email Marketing & more.

I have always said that what I enjoy most about what I do is helping my clients build trust with their potential customers. Assisting my clients in growing their dream into reality is what fills my cup.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
From day one it was established that to convey our gratitude for our client’s trust that EACH AND EVERY customer receives customer service that was second-to-none, responsiveness that they had never experienced from other marketing firms or vendors, passion for their endeavors as if BlendWorks was a stakeholder in their business, and results that were evident and undeniable. Customer service, responsiveness, passion, and results are the pillars by which BlendWorks was built and provides the foundation for which BlendWorks will continue to grow. This is non-negotiable to be part of our team.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Having a network of professionals who have been in my entrepreneurial shoes has been the best resource over the years to overcome challenges. It’s not a straight or smooth path to success. Having close relationships with others has helped me grow and learn when I have hit roadblocks over the years.
