Meet Honey Taylor

We recently connected with Honey Taylor and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Honey, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I started back modeling about 3 years. Its helps my confidence and self esteem stay high. Confidence isn’t something that you just wake up and decide to have. Confidence is built and somedays you have it while others you have to grab and embrace it along with good self esteem.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As a young girl, I was diagnosed with a condition named “Blounts Disease. This condition affects your growth plate and the way that the joints in your legs forms and usually causes severe deformities. I’ve had 5 surgeries which were unsuccessful and those surgeries led to hip dysplasia as an adult. I was always told by loved ones how beautiful and talented I was. That didnt stop the other kids from being mean and saying hurtful things about my disability. I escaped reality through modeling and singing. Those have been a passion of mine from a young girl up until now. I always loved to perform or put on some kind of entertaining show in my childhood and adolescense.I remember my God mother “Lucille Mack Catron” would always ask me to sing for her. I still remember and feel to this day how singing was my outlet and a gift to share with others. My teen years were a fun blare. Lol. I did the same as I did as a child and had high hopes of becoming a famous songtress/choreographer. Despite getting married at 18, having my son at 19 and daughter at 22. Divorced by age 26.My 20′s were a real roller coaster. Having children and my condition led to me being obese and questioning my worth. It wasn’t until my early to mid 30’s that I started to accept myself for who I am. I had to really look deep inside and hug that young girl and heal her. I started dressing up more, lost weight and controled my life after a health scare and ending of a toxic relationship.I vowed to never second guess myself or give anyone else the power to do so ever again. I started back modeling about 3 years. Modeling helps to keep my confidence and self esteem elevated, while being able to express creativley.Despite my condition, I’ve participated in local Fashion Shows, photo shoot events and brand promotions. Somedays you you have to grab and embrace the woman/man that you are. In my opinion and experience, you have to wake up and choose to have confidence inside and out. I choose to be sexy everyday despite how I feel. I also love to encourage other women that are facing challenges with not loving and accepting who they are.I influence women to be who they are unapologetically. The fellas too.Self love is the best love.We are the village and should uplift and encourage one another to be the best versión of ourselves.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I say that I have always remained not only humble but coachable. There’s always time to learn and develope into the best versión of yourself.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
