Meet Simona Burton

We were lucky to catch up with Simona Burton recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Simona, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from all the negativity presented around me since I told people what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go in my career, during beauty school etc.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

When I arrived in the United States in 2017, I was full of hope and excitement, but I also felt the weight of the unknown on my shoulders. Leaving Romania, my home, my family, and the familiarity of my surroundings was one of the most challenging decisions I ever made. But I was driven by a dream—a dream to create a life for myself where I could blend my passion for beauty with the entrepreneurial spirit that had always lived inside me.

I quickly realized that to achieve my dreams, I needed to build a solid foundation. So, I enrolled at the G Skin Hair and Beauty Institute, where I immersed myself in the world of cosmetology. It was there that I discovered the true depth of my passion. The more I learned, the more I became convinced that beauty was not just about appearance but about confidence, empowerment, and self-expression. This realization fueled my dedication, and after successfully completing my studies, I knew it was time to take the next step.

Freelancing was my first venture into the world of beauty as a professional. It was an incredible learning experience, and it allowed me to refine my skills, understand my clients’ needs, and, most importantly, build relationships. However, as much as I enjoyed freelancing, I knew that my ultimate goal was to create something bigger—something that could reach more people and have a lasting impact.

In 2022, Beautee Boutique LV was born. The vision behind my business was simple: to ensure that beauty could be brought directly to our customers, wherever they are. I wanted to create a service that was not only convenient but also personalized, with a focus on delivering expert service and perfect professionalism every time. Building a team of like-minded professionals was essential to achieving this vision. Today, I am proud to lead a team of five incredibly talented stylists who share my commitment to excellence.

Since its creation, Beautee Boutique LV has experienced steady growth, and I am thrilled to see how far we have come in such a short time. However, I know this is just the beginning. We are constantly looking for ways to innovate and expand our offerings to better serve our clients. That’s why we are planning to introduce a line of quality products that align with our brand’s ethos of beauty and empowerment. Additionally, we are excited to expand our service portfolio by adding officiant services, which will allow us to be a part of our clients’ most special moments in a more meaningful way.

As I reflect on my journey from Romania to the United States and from a student of cosmetology to a business owner, I am filled with gratitude. The challenges I faced along the way have only strengthened my resolve, and the successes we have achieved have fueled my desire to keep pushing forward. Beautee Boutique LV is more than just a business to me; it is the realization of a dream that continues to grow, evolve, and inspire. I am excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing this incredible journey with my amazing team and our wonderful clients.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

If I were to offer advice to anyone early in their journey, I would emphasize the importance of professionalism, patience, and consistency—three qualities that have been instrumental in my own success. Professionalism is about more than just showing up on time and doing your job; it’s about how you present yourself, how you treat others, and how you handle challenges. Always be respectful, reliable, and committed to delivering your best work. Patience is equally important, especially when things don’t go as planned. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and setbacks are inevitable. Use those moments to learn and grow, rather than getting discouraged. Finally, consistency is key. It’s not enough to be great once; you need to be great every time. Whether it’s in your work ethic, the quality of your service, or your dedication to improvement, consistency builds trust and credibility. Remember, these qualities aren’t something you’re born with—they’re something you develop over time through intentional practice and perseverance. Keep working on them, and they will become the foundation of your success.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

The feeling of being overwhelmed is a definite at one point or another in this career field. I am fortunate to have a fantastic support system that when I only have 10%, they have 90%. My advice to you, build your tribe. Your tribe can be family, friends, team members, mentors, or some mix of them all.
