Meet Amberly Rodriguez

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amberly Rodriguez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amberly below.

Amberly , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my confidence and self-esteem through dance and walking ” face ” in the ballroom scene. Believe it or not I used to be a very shy person and sometimes still am. I push myself to many limits even if it means getting out my comfort zone.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I always loved helping people since I could remember, as I grew older I struggled with knowing what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Entering my 20s was rough from being lost to my skin breaking out with no guidance to understand why. I realized I wanted to understand skin, I became a licensed skin specialist in 2022 in Miami then moved to the Treasure Coast in January of 2023.

I worked for someone who taught me everything I know today for about 6 months later to be let go which molded me to want more. I started my solo esthetician journey August of 2023 with no money, no guidance and no clients. I made mistakes along the road from renting a suite to becoming home based allowing me to build my beautiful clientele leading me to officially owning my business.

Despite all the obstacles in the way I never let that define me or take control of the goal that I have for myself. I created a safe space for my clients while home based and now in a wonderful location that they get to call their new safe space.

No better feeling of helping people feel beautiful and confident in their skin. My main mission is to provide the up most luxurious experience and guidance to help those struggling with their skin.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

3 qualities that were impactful to my journey that I had was being okay with change, being receptive, and being honest with myself when things got rough.

The best advice I can give any starting their journey in the beauty industry is to remember to never compare yourself to anyone be yourself and the rest will come. God will grant you everything you need and more. Education is very important when coming straight out of school my advice is to work for someone who may do what you’d like to do and has YEARS of experience. Sometimes you may have to sacrifice a little for some knowledge but it’s all worth it at the end.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My mentor Nevette has guided me to build, develop the essential skills I need to be successful within my business with her guidance I have grown in ways I couldn’t even imagine.
