Meet Quistona Glenn

We were lucky to catch up with Quistona Glenn recently and have shared our conversation below.

Quistona, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. My Italian/white mother played music everyday all day long. Rock music to be specific. From then on I understood music as majority of white musicians coming together with their electric guitars, strange lyrics with old soul voices, and painted faces. I love rock music! But, at such a young age I had never listened to anything else. Until I discovered artists on my own by surfing through Music Choice videos. Listening to artists like Rihanna and Beyonce was mesmerizing. It revealed to me that there’s all kinds of different styled music to be made. Understanding that Black women can make music too. Rock, soft music, love songs, really whatever genre anyone should try. When I was 16 I started to create music while attending a cosmetology school that my family suggested was best for my career at the time. One day I noticed a classmate singing into her phone which turned out to be GarageBand. We became friends instantly after she taught me how to convert beats from Youtube videos into an mp3 file and how to sing into my phone too. Now I create music to help heal the people and inspire others to be kind. I write all my songs from life experiences and sing from my soul.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hey world, I’m a singer and songwriter. Currently learning how to produce electronic beats too. When you listen to the music I create you can find a safe space inside there. My music is many things so it can be listened to in many ways. Songs you can get hype to, disassociate, dance, or even cry too. I’m nonjudgmental because I’ve experienced so much myself in life and have made friends around the world which taught me that nobody is perfect. Everyone is different and life doesn’t slow down for anyone. Whatever you do, love one another. You can grow so much from listening and perceiving others. Do this with yourself too. Listen to your mind, body, and heart. I’d say music is my purpose but music is a part of my journey now. My purpose is people. Connecting, elevating, and evolving. I would do anything for the people I love as well as push all my limits to push out my music to the world. So far I’ve moved all the way across the country pursing my dream by myself. Of course, my loved ones are still with me in my heart and by phone. My music tells stories and I sing directly from my soul in hopes to touch hearts with you. I was born and raised from a small city called Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania but now I’m traveling the world. My ambition and old soul comes from my favorite person in this world who would be my great grandmother. I have so many people rooting for me back home. My family, my best friend, and even Pumpkin. Pumpkin is my cat. You can listen to my music by searching my artist name “stoneith” on any major platforms.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Learning how to be communicative, manifest, and take risks. Leaving home wasn’t easy. I’ve learned that there’s high reward in high risk. Being away from home means missing your best friends’ graduation party. It means missing out on your brothers’ school picture days and open houses at their schools. My great grandma is 92 years old so I make it a priority to try to call everyday or at least once a week. During my free time I multitask. Calling to check up on loved ones while doing the laundry. If I’m at the beach I’ll bring a book with me to learn something new. I’ve manifested my whole life believe it or not. Thinking into existence means it becomes your real awakening life. This means wishing too so be careful what you wish for or spend too much time thinking on negative thoughts such as what could go wrong. Instead, think about what could go right! You don’t know how beautiful you are to a stranger until you say hi to them. Traveling developed a lot of my independence so I recommend this to everyone. You should try to learn a different language and learn about the culture too! My biggest solo travel was when I traveled to Korea. Traveling to unfamiliar places teaches you how to ask for help and how to be patient with people. Especially when communicating with someone who doesn’t speak the same language as you.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Anyone can hit me up on Insta to collab or email me at [email protected]
