Meet Cindee Conner

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cindee Conner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cindee below.

Hi Cindee, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My background in nursing and the Air Force automatically taught me how to be resilient. Being able to make the correct decision while working in long difficult situations because someone’s life depended on it gives me natural resilience, you have to keep going no matter what happens. This has proven to be incredibly useful in my new career as a business owner. Making decisions and moving forward is the only way to find your success.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I began my professional career as a Registered Nurse which expanded over 30 years in multiple healthcare disciplines with experience in clinical and leadership roles. Then as a combat veteran with over 20 years of experience, I provided lifesaving care to soldiers both stateside and overseas. Serving in the military has been one of my most rewarding life accomplishments and the experiences I gained gave me the courage to pursue my next professional goal and passion, owning my own business.

As a catering and food hobbyist, I purchased Graze Craze, a charcuterie board delivery service, in North Boca Raton. Our mission is to deliver exceptional charcuterie while supporting local heroes by dedicating a portion of our sales to their cause. The vision is to unite people while honoring the community of Veterans, Healthcare Workers, and First Responders. Our clients are local businesses in Boca and the nearby areas, real estate agents, law practices, medical practices, funeral homes, and pharmacy reps. We focus on businesses that need catering for events, meetings, and promotions. Check out our website for more ordering details. Grand Opening is Oct 18, 2024.

Life throws a lot of punches, I am also a full-time caretaker for a parent with Alzheimer’s and a mom to a university student while being married to an Air Force Veteran. Service to the community is number 1 in our house!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The 3 qualities I think have impacted my life the most are: Integrity, Trust, Confidence

Integrity is a core value I live by every day. It means doing what’s right even when no one is watching. I also believe that trust in those around you is essential for achieving positive outcomes. Trusting your colleagues, your partner, and your family is vital for building the confidence to tackle difficult tasks, make the right choices, and maintain the determination to keep moving forward.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

The #1 challenge I am currently facing is time management and delegation. All business owners know that there is never enough time to get everything done, that is why delegation is key. However, first, you have to find the right person you are delegating to! I want my employees to match my values and be encouraged to make good decisions that move the business forward. I believe we all have to take part ownership of whatever we are spending our time on. Everyone should feel important and needed at their job.
