We recently connected with Nacho Colombini and have shared our conversation below.
Nacho, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing confidence and healthy self-esteem has always been a challenge for me. To achieve this, I forced myself to face situations that took me out of my comfort zone. Every time I overcame an obstacle, no matter how small, I not only felt a great sense of satisfaction but also gained more self-confidence. I learned to value my achievements without comparing myself to others and recognized that growth is an ongoing process. Surrounding myself with supportive people and maintaining faith in myself have been crucial on this journey.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hi, I’m Nacho Colombini. My musical journey began in Piedra del Águila, Neuquén, Argentina, when I was a child and discovered a donated drum kit at the church where I played. This sparked my passion for music and led me to study at the Escuela de Música Contemporánea in Buenos Aires. Later, I earned a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
What excites me most about my career is how dedication and perseverance can open doors to new opportunities. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to play at various festivals, including Lollapalooza in Argentina on two occasions and recently at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Performing at the original Lollapalooza was a significant milestone, reflecting the growth and evolution of my career.
In addition to performing, I’ve been diving into music production. I’m fascinated by the challenge of translating music created digitally into a compelling live experience. This interest has led me to work on production and live arrangements, areas I find both challenging and rewarding.
As I look ahead, I’m excited about the remaining year at Berklee and the potential opportunities it may bring. While I’m considering moving to cities like New York, Los Angeles, or Miami to further advance my career, I’m open to where the journey might take me. Each step I take helps me grow both personally and professionally, and I’m grateful for the support along the way.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, three key qualities have been fundamental:
Perseverance: Staying focused and pushing forward despite challenges has been crucial for achieving significant milestones. My advice is to maintain determination and keep going, even when things get tough.
Adaptability: Being flexible and open to change has allowed me to handle different musical situations. For those starting out, I recommend being willing to learn and adapt to new experiences.
Continuous Learning: The constant pursuit of new knowledge has been vital for my development. Investing in learning and continuously improving will help you advance in your career.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I usually start by organizing and prioritizing my tasks. I make a list and break down large projects into smaller steps, which allows me to tackle each thing separately. I also give myself permission to take breaks; stepping away from what I’m doing, whether it’s playing the drums or going for a walk, helps clear my mind and reduce stress. Setting realistic goals is another key strategy for me; breaking my objectives into achievable targets prevents me from getting overloaded and allows me to progress more effectively. Additionally, seeking support by talking to friends or colleagues provides me with a fresh perspective and often helps me find solutions I hadn’t considered.
