Meet Yaniv Rokah

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yaniv Rokah. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Yaniv, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

I keep my creativity alive by listening to the universe. As an artist, I’ve found that inspiration often comes when I’m most attuned to the world around me. Whether it’s taking long walks, where the rhythm of my footsteps mirrors the flow of my thoughts, or simply allowing myself to daydream, I believe that creativity thrives in moments of stillness and openness.

And sometimes, it’s being at a loud kids’ birthday party and striking up a conversation with a random person that leads to a project I’m currently working on titled When Robert Met Judith. You never know when or where inspiration will strike, which is why I make it a habit to stay open to all possibilities, no matter how unexpected they may seem.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m passionate about storytelling, focusing on the beauty of everyday moments. My work often explores human connections, drawing inspiration from unexpected encounters.

What excites me most is the ability to connect across generations, especially with older individuals, who often have rich stories that fuel my creativity.

For updates on my projects and upcoming events, I regularly share them on my website and social media. I’m always eager to collaborate and connect with others who share a love for storytelling and creativity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three key qualities have shaped my journey: curiosity, resilience, and empathy. Curiosity, much like in my first project Queen Mimi, which I discovered in a laundromat, has always led me to unexpected and inspiring stories. Resilience has helped me push through challenges and keep creating, even when the path was tough. Empathy allows me to connect deeply with others and bring their stories to life in my art.

For anyone just starting out, stay curious, embrace setbacks as part of the process, keep your dreams alive, and always seek to understand and connect with others.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

One book that has significantly influenced my development is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This book profoundly impacted my perspective on pursuing dreams and finding one’s purpose in life. Some of the most valuable lessons I took away from it is the importance of staying committed to your goals, the idea that the journey is just as important as the destination, and the encouragement to listen to your inner voice, even when the path ahead seems uncertain.

The Alchemist has been a guiding light in my creative journey, inspiring me to follow my passions and trust in the process.
