We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Farhod Cigarchi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Farhod below.

Hi Farhod, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.

Overcoming creativity blocks often involves a mix of strategies. These are some ways that I have delt with creativity block as a song writer and a beat maker.

Change Your Environment: A new setting can stimulate creativity. Try working in a different place or rearranging your workspace.

Set Small Goals: Break down your work into smaller, manageable tasks to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

Establish a Routine: Consistent work habits can help train your brain to be creative on demand.

Freewriting: Write without worrying about quality or coherence to unlock new ideas.

Take Breaks: Sometimes stepping away from your work and doing something different can help clear your mind.

Seek Inspiration: Read, watch, or listen to content in your field to spark new ideas.

Collaborate: Discuss your project with others to gain new perspectives.I love when people give non bias feedback. I feel this helps out a great deal.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My real name is Farhod Cigarchi but most people know me by my stage name which is AOTT which stands for Axis on the track also known as Axis. I was born in Iran and moved to California at the age of 3 which is where I spent most of my life. I started making music at the age of 15. Through out the years I have done it all. From writing music, rapping, djing, mixing and mastering, and music production. I try to include my Iranian culture into my music, weather its on a beat I have created or if its included in some lyrics. Professionally Im currently focused on my beat production company which is called AOTT Music. This is something that I have built and currently building from the ground up. One thing that sets me aside form other Producers is that I only sell exclusive beats. For those of you that are unfamiliar with what that is, its once the artist purchases a beat, they now own the beat and all the rights. I think the most exciting thing about making beats is that every beat is different in its own way, none of the beats sound the same. As far as music goes I’m currently working on my own Album that should be out sometime during 2025. The album will be self produced and it will also have some features on it as well.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

In music production, staying innovative is crucial. It’s not just about knowing how to use the tools, but about pushing boundaries and experimenting with new sounds and techniques. For someone early in their journey, I’d advise immersing themselves in a wide range of music genres and styles. This exposure can spark new ideas and help you find your unique voice. Experiment with different production techniques and don’t be afraid to break the rules. Mastery of your tools and software is fundamental. Understanding the ins and outs of your digital audio workstation (DAW), plugins, and hardware can drastically improve your production quality. For beginners, it’s important to focus on learning one or two DAWs deeply rather than spreading yourself too thin. Tutorials, online courses, and practice projects can help you become more comfortable and efficient with your tools. Music is often a collaborative process, and building relationships within the industry can open up opportunities and offer invaluable learning experiences. Connecting with other producers, artists, and industry professionals can lead to collaborations that enrich your work. For those starting out, attending industry events, participating in online forums, and joining local music groups can help you build a network and gain insight from others in the field. In addition to developing these areas, maintaining a mindset of continuous learning and adaptability is crucial. The music industry is always evolving, so staying open to new trends and technologies will keep your skills relevant and your work fresh. Lastly don’t be afraid to try new things and take risks.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m always looking for new artists to collaborate with. Weather you are a singer, rapper, dj or even another producer or band. I’m alwas open to the idea of working with new talent. if your interested in working then you can contact me through my website @ aottmusic.com
