Meet Grant G’Sell

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Grant G’Sell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Grant below.

Grant , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I believe in doing it all for the greater good, my dream was to build a business so that I could share my love and passion for being out on the water with others. Providing the best experiences possible for all customers at affordable rates is what it is all about for me, I love seeing others make the same kinds of life long memories that I have throughout my life.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I grew up boating on the weekend with my family and friends so getting to extend that experience with everyone else is what it’s all about for me. I have more childhood pictures of myself on a boat than anywhere else. Boating and water sports have always been a huge part of my life.

I now offer self guided pontoon rentals and chartered tours at different durations all around St. Augustine and I will bring the boats to the most convenient boat ramp for the customer.

I also offer private or group wakeboard, wake – skate, or wake – surfing lessons for beginners and experienced riders!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The experience I had working under my dad at his company and doing construction was monumental and all around shaped my work ethic and values as a business owner. One key takeaway was taking pride in your work and doing whatever it takes to get the job done and to be proud of the final result. I also learned to remain optimistic in the hard times, it’s important to use critical thinking to find the right solutions when overcoming obstacles. The third most impactful quality in my journey and my best advice to give is to follow your genuine passion and prioritize the customers satisfaction.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Go Giver was a very powerful book for me as I have looked back and made decisions based off of what I learned from the book. The primary takeaway from this book is that there is enough for success for everyone, and it is about being generous over greedy. It’s about believing in your own product, service, or goods enough to want to share it for the genuine reaction of others rather than gaining something from it – like a transaction. I believe every entrepreneur should read this at some point in their journey.
