Meet Jessica Hudnall

We were lucky to catch up with Jessica Hudnall recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jessica, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
As a young girl I’ve always pictured myself to be beautiful like a flower. A ROSE in particular was one of my favorite flowers, I identify as being elegant, bold, and wild like my personality. I wasn’t always as confident growing up as a young child and I didn’t always have high self-esteem, but over time I develop my confidence and self-esteem by simply loving who God created me to be. I had to dig deep within my core and learn what makes me so unique and beautiful. I discovered the beauty within my soul. I speak highly of myself, despite when others used words to hurt me; nonetheless I repeat words of affirmation to myself to uplift my spirits on a daily basis. As my mother would say to me, “tell your haters Sticks & Stones, May Break My Bones, But Your Words Will Never Hurt Me.” I vivdly remember going from crying to laughing as I repeated those words in the mirror. I was ready for WAR and was willing to protect myself by making sure my voice was heard. I boosted my self confidence after giving my bullies a piece of my mind. Futhermore giving myself words of affrimations on a daily basis is essential to my self development. Fast forward to adulthood, I exude eye-catching confidence. When I walk in a room you can feel my aura. It’s unshakable. Not only becaue of how beautiful I am and how well I dress. My presence is felt becuase I was born with a natural God given LIGHT that a blindman can see. I SHINE so bright and it would be impossible to not notice due to the simple fact I carry this thing called “BLACK GIRL MAGIC.”

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
During this Season MOMZ “R” FUNNY2 is currently in the midst of rebanding. MOMZ “R” FUNNY2 is a brand for the family/ culture, that unites, uplift, and spread joy across the globe in the hopes to inspire people to be unapologetically their true selves using my humor, clothing line, podcast, content, and books as a vessel.

As foundor of my brand MOMZ “R” FUNNY2, I started off not knowing what I was doing and till this day sometimes I still don’t know what I’m doing lol. I just know God put a vision in my heart to execute 9 years ago and every since then I have been following God’s lead. I don’t want to make any premature announcements at this current moment, but I can say if you would like to catch up and learn more about my story you may follow me on most social media platform @Momzrfunny2 and check out my other latest articles.

Besides working on my rebanding, I can share that I look forward to continue to build my community and grow organically on social media. Over the years,I trully have growned to love creating new original content. Social media changes as much as us women change our hair styles lol. So I make sure I educate myself, by studying and staying up to date with the “Current Vibe”. I may not follow and do every “New Trend, but I definitely put in the work to remain relevant by popping up on people’s timelines and “add to carts” lol.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting back on my personal journey as an entrepreneur the most impactful area in my life is having a personal relationship with God. He gifted me with all my heart desires. I am thankful to have discernment and wisdom in order to maneuver through my entrepreneur journey. I can correlate and express all three key qualities, skills and area of knowledge that are impactful in my journey. Starting with having the skill to be patient whether things were going good and not so good in my business and personal life. Over the years I learned that having patience will save you a lot of time, money, and stress.

For example if something does’t go as planned, I would see it as a sign of protection. I am a firm believer of what’s for me will not miss me. Secondly having the quality of keeping a PEACE of mind in the midst of my storm has lead me currently to continue to grow and level up in life. Peace is FREE, but if you don’t have that skill of discerntment and wisdom, than one may not have a peace of mind which can end up being EXPENSIVE. Lastly having knowledge is POWER! We must continue to seek gaining more no matter what stage we are in our life’s. The most wise person knows they do not know everything and the key to remaining clever is by keeping an open mind to constantly obtain new information. For example you can take a class and/or read a book that will impact you to possibly gain a new skill set. Overall as I look back over my life, I can come to conclusion of having a lot of ‘Ah Ha!” moments. I reflect on certain situations from my past and present moments and think, “ What was God trying to teach me during this season of my life?”

To anyone that reads my article, I hope you can resonate with what I mention in some type of way. If not, I hope you can find my words to be encouraging and motivational. Whatever season you are in I hope you look within, dive deep into your soul and hug that inner child like you never have before. Tell yourself to start where you are, nothing has to be prefect, just know you are worth it. You will have trails and tribulations, but thats only to strengthen the development your character and make you one resilient individual. Take one step at a time, keep the faith and know you got this. I’m rooting for you!

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

It’s the GROWWWWTHHHH for me! GO JESSICA! “I’m so, I’m so PROUD of you!” Yes I speak about myself in third person because who else is going to be my biggest HYPE GURL than me?

Over the past 12 months a lot of momentum has taken place in my business. For starters my instagram insights have been increasing. More people from different states and countries have followed me. As my followers are increasing, so has my views. My engagement is still on the low side, but I have faith once I start running ads, I will have more of my target audience and I foresee my engagement increase as well.

Futhermore MOMZ “R” FUNNY2 is back OUTSIDE. In July 2024 I had my comeback with being a street vendor at Amber Wagner non profit organization ” Just Trying To Live” event. It was a wonderful turnout. I got to meet new people/customers. What I love the most about being a vendor is connecting with the people in my community & new communities. Nothing beats hearing live reviews, comments, and suggestions about my consumers needs & wants. Make sure you follow me on social media & subscribe to my email list for updates.

Moving forward in August 2024, I participated in my FIRST FASHION SHOW. I was so thrilled to be apart of Devina Serpentine Luxe Network launch event. I presented some items from my fall collection. The feedback I received was inspiring and has propelled me to continue to express my creativity as for I am an artist that is sensitive about her work lol. I even got my first Getty Image at the event. Thanks Devina, from one mother to another, you rock!

Additionally I am slowing building a team. I would like to shout out one of my dearest closet friend Damaris Batres for being my PR. We have been neighbors/friends since college. We share a lot of interest from being creatives, actresses, & fashionistas etc. Damaris is even running for Miss Culver City in a beauty pageant. She is such a genuine person. Thanks to Damaris for connecting me to Devina, which lead me to having my first fashion show. She has gotten me on red carpets with celebrities which lead me to gain more exposure by giving out PR packages from my brand etc. If you are looking for a PR, I highly suggest you contact Damaris on IG @pr.damar_.

Overall as opportunities continues to arise for my business, I will remain focused on my mission in order to reach my goals and become more successful. Over the years, I can be vocal about being proud of myself because I can actually look back and see my progression. I am presently working on rebranding as I mention before. I enjoy celebrating my WINS whether they are big or small. Having gratitude summons more blessings. So I am presently thankful and grateful. I know my future is bright. Just keep growing and glowing! Until then next time readers.
