Meet Katie Laiche Lovetro

We were lucky to catch up with Katie Laiche Lovetro recently and have shared our conversation below.

Katie Laiche, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Building confidence and self-esteem for me has been a lifelong journey and what really helped me develop those traits was a deep devotion to really understanding myself on a soul level.. Not just what my little human self thought and felt but confidence in something bigger than what I could see. It has taken some deep inner work and self compassion and grace to get me to where I am today and I have made it part of my mission in this life to help others in any way that I can to also dig in the depths and find what lights them up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a salon owner | Hairdresser full time. I love working with people and shining a light on their inner beauty while I take care of their hair needs. I specialize in balayage (hair painting) and French hair cutting and see my work as my art.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Hmm.. Trusting my intuition has been number 1! Of course with any changes there come challenges and places that we can learn from through “failing” which I just see as a doorway! Secondly Authenticity.. it’s super important and has been for me to be true to who I am and what’s true for me on this journey. Thirdly I’ll say flexibility and in flow. What I mean by this is, you have to be flexible with yourself and your life to allow the magic to unfold how it will and not how you think it’s supposed to go. Being in the flow of life has given me so much freedom to live peacefully.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I’m feeling overwhelmed I do my best to reevaluate how much I’ve added to my plate and the balance between what I’m doing and how I’m recharging. My advice would be to try to live in as much balance as you can and when you feel “off” take time to practice self-care and aligning with what you really need vs what the to-do list says. Taking care of my mind body and spirit have been super helpful in managing overwhelm and thankfully for me it rarely is a thing anymore.
