We recently connected with Toshiea Wright and have shared our conversation below.

Toshiea, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I developed my confidence and self esteem from building myself up, loving myself, caring for myself, and using makeup to enhance my beauty.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m focused on consistency, working with big brands and staying encouraged. I am a makeup artist, but mostly a makeup enthusiast. The most exciting part is showcasing my creativity, and amazing products. I’m possibly going to take clients, but i would prefer my own space to work in.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Color theory, blending eyeshadow, color matching. Practice, and learn at your own way. Once you learn to do things in a way that works best for you, then you have finally made it. Never give up on yourself, keep pushing because you’ve got this

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

Ladies in the makeup community, I’m learning something every day and I’m always working to improve my skills.
