Meet Taylor Frost

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Taylor Frost. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Taylor below.

Taylor , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I think there are many different moments of my life I have drawn some of it from, but mainly from my daughter. I had a special needs child at a younger age. I always had to push. I always had to keep going. If nothing else, for her. It shifted my mindset in a lot of ways.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a professional photographer based in Boston, traveling across the country and the world to capture love stories of all kinds. What makes my photography truly special is the bold, editorial flair I bring to my shooting style, combined with an authentic representation of the day. Many of my clients tell me their photos look like they’ve come straight from a magazine! I really pride myself on capturing pure moments while elevating them in a way that makes my clients feel like they’re the stars of their own story. What makes my work so exciting is the opportunity to blend raw, genuine emotions with a touch of cinematic drama. I love creating images that are not only beautiful but also deeply meaningful, reflecting the unique essence of each couple’s journey. It’s a privilege to freeze these moments in time, turning them into art that my clients will cherish forever.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Passion, grit, and adaptability all day! These three were the most impactful pieces and keys to my success in my journey. My passion is what would get me up in the morning, my grit is what would keep me striving towards my goals, and my adaptability is what helped my business survive and flourish through an ever-so changing economy and country. Out of all three of these, to me, grit is the most important aspect. Grit is what drives your success. It is being able to take something you feel passionately about and persevere, no matter what obstacles you face. The passion comes naturally, keeping the passion and harvesting it into something more comes from the grit.

If I could give one piece of advice to anyone who is just starting out, it would be to commit. Commit to yourself and your passion. Without this, your talent just becomes unmet potential. Practice what you love, for hours, become the master of it. Make mistakes, learn from them. I had to sacrifice free and fun time in order to better my skills and grow my business, and I do not regret it one bit.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

One of the most impactful things that my parents did for me was to teach me to be independent at a young age. At under 7 years old, I was flying to Europe alone even! I had always prided myself in my independence. The funny thing is, I did not even realize how important of a skill it was, and how much it impacted my life, until I was much older. Gaining that skill at a young age, and continuing to foster it into my teens and adulthood, I had a different mindset than most that I knew. I was not afraid to ask questions, try new things, fail, or explore beyond what my own mind could comprehend. My independence allowed me to take risks, be innovative, and go after my dreams with conviction.
