We were lucky to catch up with Benjamin Diedering recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Benjamin, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I originally studied mathematics and wanted to become a teacher, but had a part-time job as a party photographer. The more I was out and about at the weekend and noticed how much joy people got from the photos, the more I focused on it.
Later, I worked as a tour photographer, accompanied artists around the world and started photographing campaigns for brands. I knew more and more that this was the right direction and founded BDX MEDIA in 2014.
Since then, my passion and also my expertise have continued to grow, I opened an office in Los Angeles last year in addition to the location in Germany and am now working with NEW TREND SOCIETY to create a global community for creatives.
Although the work is really exhausting, it is super fun and is based on the fact that I simply took photos at parties for fun.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I founded BDX MEDIA as an agency to create impressive photo and video campaigns for brands and companies. We now have offices in Germany and Los Angeles. I also founded NEW TREND SOCIETY to create a worldwide community for creatives and like-minded people.
I am totally passionate and quite direct in everything I do, I like to network and exchange ideas with other people.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My passion is definitely my drive and the reason why I initiate so many projects, seek out new challenges and am definitely also very demanding.
In addition, however, there is my persistence, which ensures that we implement ideas as a team, win new customers and establish long-term partnerships.
Despite all this, I am very humble and have a genuine interest in other people’s stories, I listen and I know that good collaboration is based above all on humanity.
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
The challenge is definitely that the USA is so big and anyone can do it. If you really want it. The question is: How badly do you want it? If you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything. I’m so excited for the adventures ahead and building a global agency group with BDX.
