Meet Somebody Famous

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Somebody Famous. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Somebody, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my lineage. I come from a family of pioneers, like my uncle Jesse Walter Arbor, one of the first African American Naval officers in WWII, my cousins Carolyn and Mildred Gill of “The Velvelettes,” a Motown group with Billboard Hot 100 hits, and more. Their courage in the face of adversity inspires me to keep pushing forward, ensuring that the opportunities they fought for carry on through me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a custom designer, sync licensing recording artist, runway model, and businesswoman. What sets my career and brand apart is that I defy categorization. I’ve never embraced limited beliefs—a mindset I developed as a child. This is evident in my designs, music, and overall presence, which naturally attracts other trailblazers.

In the past year, my custom fashion designs have been featured nationally on the “Sherri Shepherd Show,” placed on the soundtrack of the film Dope Girls by Black Dinero, and showcased at Virginia Swim Week through Team Lamb & RVA Fashion Week.

Looking ahead to 2025, my journey continues with my first New York Fashion Week placement as a designer.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three key areas of knowledge that have had the greatest impact on my journey are discernment, rewiring the subconscious mind, and overcoming fear-based procrastination.

For anyone on the path to success, mastering these areas will not only bring you closer to your goals but open doors to even greater possibilities. Everything begins within, and our external experiences mirror that inner reality. What you believe shapes your life, whether positive or negative. My advice: stay positive, regardless of what’s happening around you, and you’ll see your outcomes improve.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am always looking to partner/collaborate with other Trail Blazers. The ability to connect with other sewist, live bands, producers, engineers, photographers, videographers, creative directors, filmmakers, and business owners would be a true delight. I’m most reachable via Instagram and email. Let’s get busy !
