Meet Natalia Baqueiro

We were lucky to catch up with Natalia Baqueiro recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalia, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and I see the world as a truly magical place. I LOVE people and life, and even though it’s been so hard to get to where I am, I know this is the truth so when I embarked into becoming an entrepreneur to give it ALL there was no other option. It was either sink or swim, and I had this knowing that somehow the universe was going to put me in front of the right people and the right circumstances as long as I work as hard as I can. I don’t go agains my ethical compass, everything I do comes from an honest place. How I see the world is reflected on my art and how I treat each of my clients.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I want to tell my clients stories through the incredible visual medium of photography using art as my vehicle, and vulnerability and intimacy as the major tools to achieve the vision we have. I think the greatest love stories are among us, and they deserve to be told as if they were in a film. That’s the level of care and thought I put into each project I take. Wether that is a couple who is getting married, a couple in love, or a portrait session where we want to empower that person through photography to be the best version of themselves.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My perseverance hands down. Every day when I take a note of where I am, and I look back at my journey, I can’t thank my formal self for that crazy perseverance that kept me going when I was in pain, when I was sick, and when I thought I wouldn’t make it. I bit on myself everyday. That is my greatest investment.

My brutal Honesty – I don’t sugarcoat things. I’m brutally honest and as hard as it can be sometimes, that has always kept me reliable and on the floor to continue to improve and get better and move with integrity. Always.

My curiosity – I’m an incredibly curious person. I don’t know when was the last time I felt boredom. I think the world and the people in it are fascinating. Therefore, I learn as much as I can. I also continue my education to learn about business, and art every year.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

I give myself at least 2 hours a day every day. I love working out, and being in Nature so those things are non-negotiable and that’s the best way to disconnect and be in the present moment and notice that nothing is too big of a problem, and you’re not such a necessity to everybody like you think you are. It grounds me and let’s me relax.

I can also answer what an ideal client is someone that shares some of the way I see the world: as an incredibly beautiful place where everything is possible and magic is all around us. Someone who is honest and LOVES art.
