Meet Yosef Mirakov Cohen

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yosef Mirakov Cohen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Yosef, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose by discovering a deep sense of responsibility to help those who cannot help or speak for themselves—animals. Growing up in Israel, I was always surrounded by a culture that values community and helping others. I found my purpose shortly after I turned 13, a pivotal moment when I embraced the responsibility to care for others. As I learned more about the world, I became deeply aware of the suffering of animals and the environmental damage caused by unsustainable practices. This awareness led me to adopt a vegan lifestyle, not just as a personal choice but as a commitment to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.
C’est La Vé was born from a deep-rooted passion for ethical, sustainable, healthier and compassionate living. As an entrepreneur, I wanted to create plant-based snacks that reflect these values and inspire others to make conscious choices. My journey has been a testament to the potential of passion to drive change, using my platform to advocate for a healthier, more sustainable future. From overcoming the challenges of entrepreneurship to celebrating small victories, every step has reaffirmed my commitment to creating a better, healthier, and more sustainable plant based snacks to nourish our bodies and souls.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Professionally, I’m focused on building and expanding my business, C’est Lä Vé, which is centered around producing wholesome, vegan and eco-friendly charcuterie and snacks. C’est Lä Vé savory, nut-free, plant based Charcuterie Snack enriches your snacking experience by providing an ideal combination of plant-based cheeses, delis, bruschetta, and a mix of dried fruit, chocolate chips, and seeds in a compostable single-serve, snack-sized pack that satisfies. Each charcuterie snack packed with 10g of protein, is a good source of iron and fiber, and certified kosher. What excites me most about this venture is the opportunity to merge my passion for ethical living with entrepreneurship. C’est Lä Vé isn’t just a brand; it’s a movement aimed at making compassionate and environmentally friendly choices accessible to everyone.

We’re currently working on expanding our vegan charcuterie product line (adding gluten-free and soy-free options), with plans to introduce our vegan charcuterie snacks into local breweries and gift stores, and eventually into national grocery chains and airlines. Each product is crafted with the utmost care, using clean ingredients and sustainable practices, to ensure that our impact on the planet is as positive as possible. For me, it’s not just about running a successful business—it’s about making a tangible difference in the world. Let’s Save Lives, One Charcuterie Snack At A Time. #snackforlife

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities have been particularly impactful in my journey: resilience, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Resilience has been crucial in navigating the inevitable challenges of entrepreneurship. There have been many moments where things didn’t go as planned, but I learned that setbacks are just stepping stones. For anyone early in their journey, I’d advise developing a mindset where failure isn’t feared but seen as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Creativity is another key factor, especially when it comes to problem-solving and innovation. Starting C’est Lä Vé required me to think outside the box, from developing unique products to finding sustainable business practices. I recommend nurturing creativity by exposing yourself to different perspectives and allowing yourself to experiment and take risks.

Lastly, continuous learning has kept me ahead of trends and helped me adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the food industry. Whether it’s through formal education, mentorship, or self-directed research, never stop learning. For those just starting, I’d say be curious and proactive in seeking knowledge, as it will equip you to make informed decisions and stay relevant in your field.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My journey wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of my family, my lifelong friends, and my incredible team. My family has always been my foundation, providing unconditional love and encouragement. Their belief in me has been instrumental in fueling my determination and resilience.

My close friends, who have known me since childhood, have been invaluable confidants and cheerleaders. Their honest feedback and unwavering support have helped me stay grounded and motivated.

I’m also deeply grateful to my team: Oscar Roberts, Julius Darrington, and Joseph Harrington. Their expertise, dedication, and shared vision have been invaluable in building and developing C’est La Vé. Their contributions have been instrumental in overcoming challenges and achieving our goals.
