Meet Ania Karbowska

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ania Karbowska. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ania, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Going to a gym, working on my body, and seeing changes in my body helped me develop confidence that spread to other areas of my life.
I used to be a very unfit kid, wearing strong glasses and hated PE lessons. One of my stories was that I’ll never be a fit person because of my childhood experience. When I started becoming stronger, healthier and fitter I started questioning this story and other stories about myself.
I am from Poland but came to England in 2006 and gained some weight. It was a combination of being lonely and trying to use food to numb my emotions and being able to finally afford the food that was always too expensive when I was younger.
Working on changing my body and achieving my weight loss goals showed me that anything is possible
I developed this mindset – if I work hard enough, stay consistent, trust the process and get help when needed I can be/do/have whatever I want to.
I’ve learned that the compound effect of the small steps (often mundane and boring) taken every day is the key to lasting success.
I understood that as long as I don’t stop I’m moving forward. I may not see results straight after in my body and my business but if I keep showing up I’ll be able to turn my dreams into reality.
My confidence and self-esteem keep growing and I challenge myself to do new things every month. I know that it’s totally normal not to be excellent at the beginning but the more we do it the better we become. Today, I run a business, helping women feel happy and confident in their minds and bodies, I go to Live and online networking events and do guest expert talks regularly in other people’s containers. I remember how scared I was at the beginning but I remembered from my body transformation journey that I’ll be becoming better with every event.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m nearly 43, I come from Poland but I live in London with my husband, our cat Adam and our dog Happy.
I’m a personal trainer and an NLP coach.
I used to struggle with my weight.
I tried different diets and exercised 7 times per week but never saw long – lasting results.
At some point I realized that physical changes were not enough, that’s why I started looking at my mindset, discovering my self – sabotage, limiting beliefs, learning that there was more under the surface.
After doing the inner work and removing limiting beliefs and self – sabotage, I now look after myself because I know I deserve to be the healthiest and the happiest version of myself.
I’m super excited to be able to combine my fitness and nutrition coaching with timeline therapy breakthrough sessions where we uncover the root cause of the problem and remove it to make sustainable changes.

Why am I so passionate about healthy habits?
I used to believe that our health was solely dictated by our genetics and saw it as a reason for my poor blood test results like increased cholesterol and triglycerides.
But then I met people who, against all odds, lived healthy and happy lives.
I challenged my belief and discovered the true potential of our bodies and our choices.
Our choices—our daily habits, our nutrition, our exercise routines—have a profound impact on our well-being, far beyond what I ever imagined.
So here I am today committed to guiding and inspiring others on their own health journeys.
Side note – the ”side effect” of this journey is the body you are proud of!

One of my favourite offers is my membership Strong Mind & Fit Body Club.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Never giving up even when things go hard or I experience a setback.
2. Being surrounded by people, especially women who already had what I wanted. Adapting the mindset ”If she can have it, I can have it too.”
3. Learning about the specifics of the female body when it comes to health and fitness.

You can only truly fail if you quit on your goals. Every time something doesn’t work the way we want it’s a valuable lesson for us.
Don’t try to do everything on your own – get help, delegate – you come first.
Never be afraid to advocate for your health.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I feel overwhelmed I go and get help. I’ve been working with an amazing mentor and I’m part of a membership she created. I can go to a mastermind call and talk to her directly or use a Facebook or Telegram group to ask a question. Noting is too big or too small to bring there.
Being connected with other entrepreneurs, and knowing that most people feel overwhelmed sometimes on their journey helps me accept this feeling as part of the process and get to the root cause of why I feel that way.
Usually, the reason behind this is that I want to do too much and end up procrastinating. What works best is doing a list of small tasks that are required to accomplish the big task. Once it’s divided into small parts it feels doable rather than overwhelming.
I keep an eye on work-life balance. Being passionate about what I do sometimes leads to taking on too much and I need to remind myself that I need the time for play, pleasure and relaxation.
I started reading fiction again after a couple of years of always reaching for a self-development or health-related book.
