Meet Jarmel Mcclary

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jarmel Mcclary. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jarmel below.

Jarmel , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I got it from sports , because when I was in school I hooped and folks look at the good parts because they see you playing but don’t see the grind behind the scene. All the practices and grinding. I just transferred it to my brand and everyday life

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a fashion designer and content creator. I’m the owner of the clothing brand Vintage Death & I do fashion based content on Instagram & YouTube. I’m dropping my new fall/ winter collection October 4th. It’s called What Da VD? I will be launching my podcast later this year also

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think the 3 things that were most important was having patience, being willing to learn & just to not give up no matter how hard stuff got. The advice I got for folks just starting is to keep learning and never be afraid to ask questions. You’ll never stop learning no matter how far you are into the game

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I would love to do a collab with Le’wuz or that’s an awful lot of cough syrup. They can contact me through Instagram @vintagedeath__
