Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Parth Bhatt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Parth, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity derives from deep empathy and personal experiences that have impacted my life. I’ve been navigating the complexity of depression, anxiety, abandonment and attachment issues, people pleasing, and other mental health conditions since I was 12 years old. These struggles have had a long-term influence on my life, causing me to develop a profound awareness of the value of love, care, and support. Over the years, I have been prescribed a multitude of medications, such as Clomipramine, Fluvoxamine, Quetiapine, Escitalopram, Propranolol, Sodium Valproate, Alprazolam (Xanax), Clonazepam (Klonopin), Lithosun, and many more. While these medications were supposed to relieve my symptoms and bring some comfort, they failed to fill the void that I desired for love, care, and affection. The support that I sought went beyond medicines and therapy sessions; it required actual human connection and comprehension. This experience demonstrated the significant influence that emotional support can have on a person’s well-being, and it impacted my resolve to extend such support to others.
I understand the impact that such conditions may have on one’s life since I have experienced the depths of depression and the crushing grip of anxiety. This realisation drives me to reach out to others, to lend a listening ear and to create an atmosphere of safety where they may feel heard and understood. My own journey has ignited within me a deep desire to ensure that no one else feels alone or isolated in their struggles.
Loneliness has lately become a daily companion in my life. I find myself engulfed in a profound sense of loneliness on occasions, festivals, and even my own birthdays. The absence of companionship during these important events may be quite depressing, reminding me of the emotional void that exists in my life. While others enjoy the warmth and delight of being together, I am left to traverse the depths of my emotions on my own. The absence of the bare minimum in my bonds & relationships only compounds this sense of isolation.
Despite my own feelings of loneliness, I have a resolve to be generous to others. My experiences of longing for friendships and understanding have given me a keen awareness of the needs of individuals around me. I aim to give the love, care, and affection that I have craved, understanding personally the influence these acts can have on someone’s well-being. I empathise profoundly with others, often to the point of disregarding my own needs. My generosity stems from a selfless heart that strives to uplift others around me, whether it’s by offering emotional support, sharing opportunities, or devoting my time and energy to make someone feel valued.
Knowing what it’s like to long for love, care, and affection, I’ve made it my top priority to make sure that others don’t have to shoulder that burden alone. My acts of generosity are driven by a genuine desire to uplift and empower others around me. I have a strong opinion that every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and cherished for who they are. Furthermore, it allows me to channel my anguish into something useful, altering my own struggles into a spark for compassion and understanding.
My empathy is deep, allowing me to sincerely understand and connect with the experiences and emotions of others. This compassionate understanding drives me to go above and beyond, frequently putting my own needs aside to help those in need. I aim to make a good difference in the lives of individuals come across, whether by lending a listening ear, offering guidance and advice, or providing practical assistance. I believe that even a completely unknown stranger is going through a tough time and wants to put it off their chest, it is only basic decency to listen to them.
By giving people what I never had, I hope to break the cycle of emotional neglect and deliver the care and compassion that everyone deserves. My experiences with abandonment and attachment issues have instilled in me a strong feeling of empathy and a desire to be a source of stability and support for others. I want to be the person I need in my own times of darkness and doubt.
While my experiences may have influenced my generosity, it goes beyond needing affirmation or recognition. It stems from genuine empathy and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others. It embodies my basic principles and reflects my view that simple acts of kindness may spread outward, causing a tsunami of positive development. I recognise the importance of compassion and have committed myself to offering love and support wherever I can.
Unluckily, my feeling of loneliness and isolation persists beyond special events, such as festivals or birthdays. It gets upsetting when my efforts to help and uplift others are taken for granted or misused. In my relationships, I frequently find myself missing the bare minimum of love, care, and affection. Sometimes, it feels as though the depth of my generosity goes unnoticed, and I am left without the basic care and affection that I also crave. It can be a terribly difficult and painful experience to give my best to people, frequently going out of my way to be there for them, only to feel ignored and outlooked. Despite my fierce determination to give my all, I am confronted with a glaring imbalance in which my own needs are left unfulfilled. All of this can be depressing, leaving me questioning my value, my worth, and yearning for meaningful connections that go beyond superficial exchanges.
Despite these difficulties, I stay committed to make a positive impact in the lives of others. My own experiences with loneliness and unfulfilled relationships motivate my resolve to make the world a more compassionate place. I think that through exhibiting compassion, empathy, and understanding, we can close gaps in our interpersonal relationships and build a sense of belonging for all.
Furthermore, my generosity extends beyond the confines of my close personal ties. I am motivated by a larger vision of bringing about constructive change in the world. This inspires me to get involved in projects and initiatives that solve social issues and enhance the well-being of others. I am committed to make a meaningful impact in the world around me, whether devoting my time, initiating sustainable projects, or advocating for pressing issues.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As someone who is sincerely driven to making a positive impact and driving change, I have dedicated myself to making the world a better place for all, including the species we share this planet with. As a youth leader, climate activist, and youth entrepreneur, I strive to empower young people and encourage sustainable action. In addition, as the founder and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the ECB Sustainable Youth Foundation, I am actively involved in an organisation that shares my passion for youth empowerment and sustainable development.
The potential to inspire and mobilise young minds towards sustainable action is one of the most exciting and unique elements of what I do. As an individual, I have initiated over 50 sustainability projects all over the globe, ranging from transforming barren land patches into green parks out of waste materials, to raising awareness about global issues and empowering youths to establish their own social start-ups. It is extremely thrilling to witness young people’s enthusiasm and determination as they actively participate in pushing positive change.
The ECB Sustainable Youth Foundation, which I founded and presently lead, is the cornerstone of my mission to empower young people and inspire sustainable action. It is a platform dedicated to developing the potential of young people and providing them with the skills, knowledge, and opportunity to drive sustainable change. Through the foundation, we actively involve young people in hands-on sustainability initiatives that solve major environmental issues while fostering social inclusion, economic growth, and community well-being.
Our emphasis on practical action and tangible outcomes distinguishes the ECB Sustainable Youth Foundation. We go beyond theoretical discussions to actively engage young people in activities that have a real impact on their communities and the globe. In addition, the foundation has established a global network of young changemakers from all backgrounds, cultures, and geographies. We build a tremendous force for change by connecting these committed individuals, multiplying the effect of our combined efforts.
As an individual and through the ECB Sustainable Youth Foundation, I am dedicated to fostering cooperation and collaborations with academic and educational institutions, nonprofit organisations and NGOs, businesses and companies, as well as policymakers and stakeholders. We can accomplish large-scale initiatives, pool resources, and push for youth engagement in environmental agendas by working together. I invite everyone who believes in our mission to contact us through our website. Let us develop a worldwide movement of young sustainability leaders who are united in our commitment to creating a more sustainable and equitable future.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey, I feel three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge have had the most influence on the path I took. These factors have not only impacted my personal and professional development, but have also helped me overcome obstacles and achieve success. Here are the three most important ones:
1. Resilience and Adaptability: The ability to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to dynamic situations is crucial for any endeavour. Resilience allows us to persist in the face of adversity while maintaining a good attitude. Adaptability, on the other hand, enables us to adapt our strategies, embrace change, and prosper in changing settings. My advise to individuals just starting out is to foster resilience by treating setbacks as chances for growth, cultivating a flexible attitude, and accepting change as an impetus for creativity. You can confidently tackle difficulties and captivate opportunities by combining resilience and adaptation.
2. Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Empathy and emotional intelligence are critical in developing meaningful connections, effective communication, and influential leadership. These characteristics allow us to better understand and connect with others, resulting in more collaborative and empathic interactions. Individuals in the early phases of their journey are encouraged to actively practise empathy by listening carefully, striving to comprehend diverse points of view, and accepting diversity. You may manage complicated social dynamics, form solid connections, and make a good contribution in your chosen area by developing emotional intelligence.
3. Resourcefulness: Resourcefulness is a critical skills that allows people to discover inventive and innovative solutions even when they have limited resources. Being resourceful entails making the most of what is available, thinking out of the box, and seeking out alternate ways to success. It entails capitalising on your strengths, effectively networking, and identifying possibilities for collaborations. For those just starting out, I recommend developing resourcefulness by adopting a problem-solving attitude, exploring diverse viewpoints, and being proactive in finding answers. Resourcefulness enables you to overcome obstacles and achieve your objectives regardless of the resources available to you.
Individuals in the early phases of their journey may lay a strong foundation for personal and professional success by combining resilience and adaptability, developing empathy and emotional intelligence, and embracing resourcefulness. These characteristics will help you negotiate barriers, forge meaningful connections, and grasp opportunities in pursuit of your goals. Remember that the road is full of downs and ups, but by embodying these traits, you can tackle problems with resilience, adapt to changing circumstances, and creatively overcome hurdles along the way.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Certainly! I am willing to work with a wide and diverse range of organisations and individuals, including academic and educational institutions, non-profit organisations and NGOs, young activists and changemakers, policymakers and stakeholders, and businesses and companies. Collaboration across these sectors has the potential to have a significant influence on advancing sustainable development and bringing about good change. Here’s how each of these organisations can connect with us for prospective collaborations:
1. Academic and Educational Institutions: We welcome collaborations with universities, schools, and educational organisations. Collaboration can involve research projects knowledge sharing, curriculum development, guest lectures, internship programmes, and mentorship opportunities. Together, we can incorporate sustainability, social impact, and leadership into academic environments and empower students to be change agents.
2. Non-profit Organizations and NGOs: Collaborating with non-profits and NGOs allows for synergistic efforts in tackling social and environmental issues. I am interested in collaborating with organisations that share a vision of sustainable development, youth empowerment, and community engagement. By integrating forces, we can increase our influence and innovate solutions for crucial issues.
3. Youth Advocates and Changemakers: I actively seek collaborations with youth advocates and changemakers who are passionate about driving positive change. Whether through joint initiatives, youth-led projects, or mentorship programs, we can work together to empower young people, amplify their voices, and foster a culture of active citizenship and social innovation.
4. Policy Makers and Stakeholders: Working with policymakers and stakeholders is essential for turning ideas into action and influencing systemic change. We are happy to take part in policy discussions, diplomatic conferences, and other venues where the objectives of sustainable development are discussed. By bridging the gap between youth and policy making, we can ensure that the voices of young people are heard and their perspectives shape decision-making processes.
5. Businesses and Companies: Collaboration with businesses and companies is critical for cultivating sustainable practises, environmental and social governance of corporates, and meaningful partnerships. I’d want to work with organisations that value environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and ethical business practises. We can work together to find new methods to incorporate sustainability into business models and achieve positive transformation throughout sectors.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you represent any of these groups or organisations and are interested in working with us. You may get in touch with us through our website or connect with me on social media mentioned below. To accomplish the goals of sustainable development and have a long-lasting impact on society, let’s band together across sectors and build a strong ecosystem of collaboration.
